"Citadel." Convicted extortionist's latest con gets huge play on Drudge.
Readers may recall that Christian Hyman, aka Sam Kerodin, is not exactly a favorite of mine, since he appeared out of nowhere and attempted to hijack the Three Percent philosophy (with some success since there are suckers born every minute, apparently). His latest scam is something called "Citadel," wherein he persuades folks to invest in an "Armed 'Defensible' Neighborhood Fortress" in Idaho.
It must be admitted that he has certainly scored another propaganda coup by talking the credulous CNS reporter into writing a story that is headlined on Drudge at the moment. Wait for the "exposes" of "gun rights criminals" which will flow from this story when the "mainstream" media begin digging into it. Can a guest shot on Piers Morgan be far behind? A very useful federal stooge is Mr. Hyman, whether he's being paid or not.

STILL wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire.
I had heard a bit about this group. Had no idea Kerodin was the one heading it up. Interesting.
Funny, he wouldn't be the same guy that was on Doomsday Prepper show would he. Some cat building a castle out in the hills with mostly his kids and not a damn one of them really knew how to use a firearm properly. Sure did look like this guy had dumped a ton of money on his castle fort.
I suspect that there may be efforts afoot to gather names for future use.
The "Patriot movement" of the 1990's should have taught that lesson well.
It's not that I don't trust anyone. It's just that I don't trust anyone! Trust is not found through internet connections. Stay local and work within your area of operations. It is far easier to deal with wrongdoers at the local level than some far off plan for a fortified utopia.

I don't know much about Kerodin, but I like the concept of a patriot community. The thought crossed my mind to start working, turning my own rural neighborhood into such a community. Most all have guns, all can shoot and some can pull shots that leave you scratching your head. Then reality hit me. The only time we "stick together" is when someone's cows get out. We band together to herd them back home. Sounds a lot like what the praetorian guard does when patriots get on their radar. Still, everyone has a breaking point.
Yesterday I sent some tips to Drudge on the subject. We'll see if they bite.
I've sent out mail to every newspaper that has run an article on the Citadel III project.
I find it personally disgusting that a convicted federal felon (a snitch probably) runs a "patriot' movement, though I like the Citadel idea.
How did he ever manage to steal the III percent concept?

Interesting. Saw something about this, of course, but didn't realize it was a Kerodin project. Frankly, my first thought was that it sounded like yet another scam/sting by Chuck Geshlider. Something to stay far, far away from either way.
Y'all better come to understand something, and fast. The battle has ALWAYS been individualism versus collectivism.
What does that mean? Simple---that YOU have the right to live as you wish, say what you wish, pray as you wish, deal with whom you wish, protect whom you wish, love whom you wish, and on and on and on.
Socially, it means one thing only---so does the next guy. Period. "I own myself" and so does every other human alive.
That's it. There's nothing else to it. Everyone's getting ready to fight a war and they don't even know the sides. The sides are simple...if the next guy wants to live his life and not interfere in yours, then he's on the same side. It doesn't matter if his goals or beliefs are the same. He gets to live his life and you get to live yours.
End of story. Any questions?
a fixed, defensive location is suicide. we learned that from the Sweeney Siege in Hamilton,MA and others.
forming separate communities just puts all the people they want to get rid of in one easy-to-surround location.
Jim Klein: "[I}f the next guy wants to live his life and not interfere in yours, then he's on the same side."
Well then; that rules out Geshlider. Possibly Kerodin as well, although I don't have personal experience with him. Just data that makes me very, very cautious.
Sorry Bear, I don't get it. Neither of those guys has interfered in my life, and I know nothing of Geshlider. I'm a big fan of caution, so I agree with you wholeheartedly about that.
I don't really care what anyone else believes. My full time is occupied figuring out what I believe, then deciding and acting accordingly. I only care about what they do.
Do what you gotta, Jim. But if you ever think about getting involved in any sort of "gulch" or freedom-oriented intentional community, be on the lookout for Geshlider. Do a few web searches. Aside from the reputational harm he's done to more than one group to which he attached himself, he has committed financial fraud against people, and... the only way I can explain the weird freaking plot to nuke a city(!?) was that he was being run by the feds in a terror sting.
Oh, and if he still has the dogs, keep them away from small children; be prepared to shoot them.
But make your own call. You might ask him about that amazing disappearing tax evasion charge before you do, if you should encounter him.
Kerodin though... extortion is an initiation of force in my book. But maybe he's rehabilitated himself. Just be careful.
It didn't work at Waco, and it won't work here. Unless you have armor and armed air power, forget "building a big fort". It simply attracts the wrong kind of attention.
Jim Klein,
Maybe you ought to understand something, and fast.
This criminal and his gang are planning to take over a county in Idaho. They're building an arms factory. (He, as a felon, can't own a firearm.)
This criminal is advocating (on his blog) to executing all those he deems undesirable and not meeting HIS criteria of a III Percenter patriot - his 'enemies,' of which Mike is one. (I'm sure I'm one too.)
May you ought to read his list of punishment to his fellow Citadel citizens?
End of story. Any questions?
Tino
Aw, this is getting ridiculous. Bear, I appreciate your concern and I'm sorry if I gave you any impression that I don't know how to live my life, let alone invest any money. I figure that in a free society, every adult is capable of making his own decisions.
The ACT of extortion is an initiation of force, but the conviction on a charge of extortion doesn't tell us whether or not such an act occurred, just as the "defensive" murder of Jose Guerena doesn't tell us whether or not he was threatening anyone.
Yeah Tino, I got a question. You write, "I like the Citadel idea." So does this mean you like ONLY the idea and not the action, or does it mean you only like the idea if it's done by people of whom you approve?
And no, I have no investment in the Citadel nor am I considering applying; it ain't for me. You see, I like the even larger idea...that a man ought to live the life he chooses as long as he allows the same of others.
I'm sorry if that's such a foreign idea to anyone here.
I live in Benewah County this citadel will go nowhere
Yeah, Jim Klein, I prefer projects like the Citadel III to be run honorable patriots, unlike you. You know, not felons or child rapists or - your favorite focker here -.
Yeah, I like the ideoa of Patriots moving together, like to The Redoubt states where people can be free, and not under a new fuhrer of your liking.
This man of many names and hundreds of companies ( I do research for living and trust me on this one, this guy is soething)is not going to allow you or anyone else to live your life free.
He is going to control it from the get-go. Just read his blog. Read his words. It's like copy of the Mein Kampf. He leaves nothing out.
You sure have a funny understanding of freedom and patriots. Well, there are nuts to every train. Happy living in The Citadel III. Hopefully they'll not execute you within a year for wanting to express your free thoughts.

Thank God this monster is not taking over your county. I've been writing them furiously providing material to consider. I hope Sammy boy is forced to move to NY or where ever Jim Klein is residing.
Mr. V, good job for exposing this POS.

"Honorable" you say, Tino? You mean like twisting another's words and making up fantasies about other people? Is that your idea of "honorable"?
Can you read? Can you pull a quote of mine that defended Kerodin? No? I didn't think so.
Look bud, the battle has ALWAYS been individualism versus collectivism. You're sitting there at your keyboard pretending to tell people who's good and who's bad...like a person is supposed to live his life by YOUR judgment. Gee, where have we heard that before?
Me, I say a grown person--ANY grown person--can make their own judgments and should be free to act accordingly. Yet somehow that ticks you off. What's YOUR angle?
I wrote, "nor am I considering applying; it ain't for me." You wrote, "Happy living in The Citadel III." Maybe you ought to worry less about others and try to keep your own integrity intact.
I learned the hard way that, "it's best to not air one's dirty laundry in public".
