Interesting point of view. If you could adequately "demonstrate the benefits" of violations of other civil rights, which others would he support violating? There are pros and cons to everything, but there are also things "that shall not be infringed", explicitly "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" in the U.S. Constitution and Amendments. Note that there are no limiters in the document such as "only arms that Congress and the President feel comfortable with". That is what is reasonable and common sense.
I noticed that when Joe Biden met with gaming industry representatives last week, he noted that he could not place limits on them because that would be a 1st Amendment violation. He needs to broaden his understanding of the other civil rights that he could violate in meeting his goals and the unintended consequences of his actions.
