OK, so maybe Obama IS the Anti-Christ

How else to explain his winning the Nobel Peace Prize?

Comment: absurd decision on Obama makes a mockery of the Nobel peace prize

Michael Binyon

The award of this year’s Nobel peace prize to President Obama will be met with widespread incredulity, consternation in many capitals and probably deep embarrassment by the President himself.

Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent. It was clearly seen by the Norwegian Nobel committee as a way of expressing European gratitude for an end to the Bush Administration, approval for the election of America’s first black president and hope that Washington will honour its promise to re-engage with the world.

Instead, the prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace.

The pretext for the prize was Mr Obama’s decision to “strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples”. Many people will point out that, while the President has indeed promised to “reset” relations with Russia and offer a fresh start to relations with the Muslim world, there is little so far to show for his fine words.

East-West relations are little better than they were six months ago, and any change is probably due largely to the global economic downturn; and America’s vaunted determination to re-engage with the Muslim world has failed to make any concrete progress towards ending the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

There is a further irony in offering a peace prize to a president whose principal preoccupation at the moment is when and how to expand the war in Afghanistan.

The spectacle of Mr Obama mounting the podium in Oslo to accept a prize that once went to Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi and Mother Theresa would be all the more absurd if it follows a White House decision to send up to 40,000 more US troops to Afghanistan. However just such a war may be deemed in Western eyes, Muslims would not be the only group to complain that peace is hardly compatible with an escalation in hostilities.

The Nobel committee has made controversial awards before. Some have appeared to reward hope rather than achievement: the 1976 prize for the two peace campaigners in Northern Ireland, Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan, was clearly intended to send a signal to the two battling communities in Ulster. But the political influence of the two winners turned out, sadly, to be negligible.

In the Middle East, the award to Menachem Begin of Israel and Anwar Sadat of Egypt in 1978 also looks, in retrospect, as naive as the later award to Yassir Arafat, Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin — although it could be argued that both the Camp David and Oslo accords, while not bringing peace, were at least attempts to break the deadlock.

Mr Obama’s prize is more likely, however, to be compared with the most contentious prize of all: the 1973 prize to Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Tho for their negotiations to end the Vietnam war. Dr Kissinger was branded a warmonger for his support for the bombing campaign in Cambodia; and the Vietnamese negotiator was subsequently seen as a liar whose government never intended to honour a peace deal but was waiting for the moment to attack South Vietnam.

Mr Obama becomes the third sitting US President to receive the prize. The committee said today that he had “captured the world’s attention”. It is certainly true that his energy and aspirations have dazzled many of his supporters. Sadly, it seems they have so bedazzled the Norwegians that they can no longer separate hopes from achievement. The achievements of all previous winners have been diminished.

Mike, after due consideration, I have concluded that many of us (at least you and I) were abducted in our sleep by aliens. (the ET kind) After an intense battery of repetitive anal probing, the probe was broken off inside us then, we were deposited in this parallel universe where insanity is the new sanity and the old sanity is still being victimized with more probing and a liberal dose of electro-shock therapy.

But it all makes sense!!! Barry gets the peace prize because his fundamental transformation of America into socialism has thus far been accomplished in an orderly, peaceful manner.

God help us.

The Nobel "Peace" Prize has been heading in this direction for several years. The Nobel Committee has now completed their task, the utter politicalization of this award, awarding it without merit or achievement. I wonder how fast Alfred Nobel is spinning in his grave?

It has become as totally irrelivant as the MSM and the HollyWierd Academy Awards.

The fine print of this Peace Prize should read...
"For heightening world awareness of the dread disease known as Narcissistic Demagoguery."

"There comes a time in the life of every human when he or she must decide to risk "his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor" on an outcome dubious. Those who fail the challenge are merely overgrown children, can never be anything else."

So, it seems that the Nobel Peace Prize is being awarded for what one hopes to do in the future.

Perhaps the award is being given to Obama, due to the fact that he expects to become the first king of the world in the near future.

No matter King O’s talk of peace, there will be war. Within our Republic, and elsewhere in the world.

King O’s words, when delivering his campaign message to a multiracial evangelical congregation in traditionally conservative Greenville, South Carolina, Jan. 2008:

"We're going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth."

And I am confident that there are those that know you for what you are.

This is not from the Onion?

This has to be a mistake. Some member of the committee called the local Italian Deli to order the Pizza Surprise, some zealous staffer overheard the conversation and turned it into a press release. If it were me I'd be embarrassed to even show my face in public.

Definitely a double face palm.

No, it was Gore's prize that made a mockery of the Nobels.

Obama's prize simply proves that, despite my thoughts at the time, the Committee really could be more stupid.

Well - a few thoughts :

1. He is probably not THE Anti-Christ but he is probably the last forerunner before he arrives. He is paving the way for global governance, global economy and a new earth-based religion via the 'war on climate change' - and he is making it acceptable in this country to hate and persecute Christians and Jews, and to accept the idea of schoolchildren being taught to worship a human leader and sing songs of praise and adoration to him.
Obongo is probably the final 'gatekeeper' who opens the way.

2. Although it is tragic, I DID have a grim chuckle when the 'news headline' box opened up on my home page - the top story quoted the fawning, lickspittle sycophants of the Nobel Committee as they praised Obongo for his efforts to bring peace and compassion in engaging the muslim world. Directly beneath it, the story 'Car Bomb Explodes, Killing 60'
Yep - the world is certainly a better place since the Kenyan bastard moved into the US White House.

You gotta be kidding. Do people really think that Barack Obama is an outlier in the list of Nobel Peace Prize recipients? How about the anti-Semite Desmond Tutu? The Godfather of Modern terrorism, Yasser Arafat? Al Gore, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter?

Oabam is exactly in line with what the NPP people believe and have celebrated for decades!

Don't you guys remember the last award? Obama is the perfect choice because a) he's not Jewish, and b) not a Holocaust survivor.

Just like with Al Gore, the committee could have easily chosen a brave dissident of Nazi tyranny (Marek Edelman for example), but instead chose a thoroughly unremarkable American politician.

Does the teleprompter have to share its prize with Obama? If so, what portion?

Maybe Obama is. And if he isn't he sure set the place for the Anti-Christ. So many deaf, dumb and blind followers are ready and ripe for the picking.

The blight is not deceiving some of US. God is making sure of this.

We see all and we are preparing!

Guys, you need to look at this from a new angle.

The award of this prize to Obama is only going to illustrate how little the man has actually done other than spend enormous amounts of money for almost no return.

A friend of mine, who is normally disinterested in politics, IM'ed me and said "Obama won the Nobel Prize. He hasn't done anything! LOL!"

Obama, his massive ego in overdrive, missed a golden opportunity to REFUSE the prize, and demand it be given to someone more worthy, like Bill Clinton (who, like it or not, has raised billions for charity).

Had he done that, approval ratings would shoot up, and even his most ardent critics would be stunned into silence.

Instead, by accepting it he's turned himself into a laughingstock, and the Nobel organization right along with him.

BREAKING NEWS: JUST IN!
the IOC just announced that
MIKE 'MADMAN' VANDERBOEGH has been awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize for Science.
They based their decision on Mike's deep seated intention to write a scientific paper explaining in layman's terms the difference between shit and Shinola.
Congrats, Mike!!!!

Propaganda + worship = even more worship. The agenda of the "transnational progressives" is to centralize, centralize, and centralize all power throughout the world. Obama is the torch bearer. He is their man. ...IMO

The man Commands two pre-emptive wars, and they call it peace.

28 days or so after the man signs a semi secret executive order declaring a continual national state of emergency and grants himself additional, practically unlimited executive powers, beyond those limits provided by the constitution, and i have yet to see a single national news story so much as mention the fact.

But give him an award, for no apparent reason, in fact contrary to reason, Nobel Imperialism Award. and its on every news page and blog from here to abu daubi...

This is the kind of thing I live to leave a smartass comment on. I got nothing.

"The award of this year’s Nobel peace prize to President Obama?"

Every time I read this I chuckle. I promise I actually chuckle. The news is the joke. You can't write stuff like this. Still funny. I am not being cute.

He's done more than that, Anon@4:20.Nidra Poller explains further here:

She concludes with "A Nobel Prize to the wise is sufficient: when you hear the word “peace” praise the lord and pass the ammunition."

A couple of days later and I still chuckle.

But a not so funny thought occurs to me.
He has spent his whole life receiving reward for nothing. When he fails he is told it was someone else that made him fail. His whole life was mapped out for him. He was directed to his above average pay job out of college. He never has known the satisfaction of actually achieving something on his own.
Or the pain of realizing that he can not do something. Or the crushing despair that he is not capable of doing something others do easily.

Given this we are lucky he is a garden variety narcissist. Not something much worse like a Megalomaniac or paranoid schizophrenic. At least I hope he isn't.
