From typeay: Fed cop night snipers?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2XiLWgggQU

Folks, this was forwarded to me by a retired Navy SEAL. Make of it what you will. I have no data other than his comments....

This video appears to show fed agents in CONUS training with issued M4s, all equipped with PVS-14s and aimpoints, as well as suppressors, shooting on a range at night. 2 guys also are seen using IR LADs. The title of the video makes it clear they are training as night snipers. You don't patrol with PVS-14s on your rifle, you patrol with the NVD on your helmet, and use a LAD for fighting/shooting on contact. You mount the PVS-14 on your rifle for static defense, or sniping. It's clear these feds (?) are training as night snipers. Make of it what you will. Some dufus filmed it and put it on youtube, thinking nobody would be ID'd I guess.

The above link to a Marine training manual gives a lot of techniques that can be used if you encounter someone who has NVD's and you do not, which may just happen during an economic collapse, or other unpleasant scenarios...

wakeislander is the poster.

By the other videos (CT K9 Olympics, etc), I'd say that we have images of CT's finest, specifically Cape Cod SWAT team.

They might be (correctly) assuming that the opfor also has NV and that IR designators are just like tracers in that they work both ways.

I bet that suppressed NV with IR designators works really well to kill specific political targets in a public night rally before "a terrorist event" breaks out.

If this was the case in my AO, I'd make sure something really bright was blinding them. Magnesium parachute flares?

They may have Gen III tubes but we can go to Bass Pro Shop and buy "Supervision" night vision monoculars for only $1299. Check these out at http://www.xenonics.com/SuperVision/

III more than them said...

Funny, how at the end, we hear an individual say that they need to quit while there are ahead, and later, that they needed to get out of there. Why?

BTW, if that is a CT SWAT video, then those are Gemtech G-5 Suppressors.

Also, some of the stupid rules put on shooting ranges in the east - even for LE - pretty much would piss off anyone who is serious about training. 90+ percent of all gunfights take place at night. So these guys are just "training" with their tools for the job.

Sadly alot of LE hasn't read the constitution, but there are quite a few in CT on SWAT throughout the state that do.

We can buy the same http://www.opticsbestbuy.com/Centurion-Systems-PVS14-Military-Night-Vision-Monocular.html?gclid=COu6kda-o50CFSm8sgodvXNx2w

This is the first time I have witnessed the price under 3K for the PVS-14.

The gen 3 tubes are still superior to the Xenonics offering according to a review or two...

Let's say this is indeed a police SWAT team training event. WHY would a civilian police force be equipped with suppressed weapons. (OSHA hearing safety?) Right....
Suppressed weps are used for covert ops, or assassination, neither of which is ANY police officer's domain.

Yet.

Appears to show?

And?

This is proof of what, exactly? That the Feds are practicing at night, to take you out when you leave your house?

C'mon, get real.

It's hilarious how bad the shot-to-hit ratio is in the video. :)

When making an entry in a building or in an active shooter enviroment, suppressors reduce the damage to your hearing. Especially with a rifle.

Sniping with an M-4? OK.

Feds? SS, FBI, ATFE. Everyone else just plays.

My agency just got issued M-4 type weapons and we got sixy rounds familiarization and that is it.
