From the CNN article- "If, by the question, one is asking whether the Founding Fathers relied on Protestant Christian principles in drafting the essential documents and in organizing the new governments, then the answer is a resounding 'no.'"

From Thomas Paine- "But where says some is the King of America? I'll tell you Friend, he reigns above, and doth not make havoc of mankind like the Royal Brute of Britain...let it be brought forth placed on the divine law, the word of God; let a crown be placed thereon, by which the world may know, that so far as we approve of monarchy, that in America THE LAW IS KING."

End of discussion.

America was founded as an Enlightentment nation, therefore anti-revealed religion in general and anti-Roman Catholic in particular.

We are now living through the consequences of our rejection of 1500 years of Christian tradition.

Anytime a leftist article begins with "The scholars below...", and if any of the authors are "professors", I stop reading. Especially if any of these "scholars" are Ph.D.s less than about 35 years of age trying to climb the P & T ranks. These unskilled progressives do nothing more that sit around trying to figure out how to invent controversy in lectures and writings that has a sole intent of padding their vita/salary. The more they are interviewed, the more their college dean sees it in their listing of "accomplishments." Remember, these self-serving scoundrels need to submit annual reports to their chair and dean to compete for raise money. The departments, colleges, and universities don't consider the validity of the press, they only see it as "press" and advertisement for future tuition derived from Eloi.

The revisionists are having a field day, for they know Americans have been fed tiny bits of revisionism for so long, they are now easily sold bigger and bigger lies. And I'm sure some of the revisionists are themselves so deeply immersed into their revisionist spin, they actually do believe their delusional revisions.

America was founded as a Christian nation, but then became officially atheist when the Constitution was ratified.

"This is the origin of the "Christian nation" myth"

He is incorrect in his surmise about why they did not force a specific religion upon the people through the US Constitution.

1) They knew what horrors are produced through man "pushing" religious prosecution against others and did not want that for our nation.

2) This quote says it all
Patrick Henry: “It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

Americans would tolerate other religions, as other religions who came here MUST tolerate Christians. They felt that much like freedom, those who were constricted by their religions would see the light of Jesus, much like the light of Freedom, and pursue both if they wanted them.

Do not let those who work to destroy our nation from within, the domestic enemies and Traitors to the USA/American people/US Constitution bother one with their lies and distortions. Those are the weapons they have used for decades, along with the normal weapons to destroy nations.

They use them to manipulate, to work at limiting our language which would then over time limit our way of thinking.

Basically it is all BS.
