ATF and HHS propose new mental health, background check gun rules

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Department of Health and Human Services each had proposed rulemaking changes published Tuesday in the Federal Register as part of Obama administration executive actions to further restrict the eligibility requirements for lawful possession of firearms. Among other changes, the ATF proposal would include those with involuntary outpatient commitments among prohibited persons, and the HHS notice would eliminate state privacy restrictions about sharing the identities of individuals.

Too much to hope that these 'rules' will be applied to LEOs and ALL Federal employees?

Nah! They will be exempt!

Who in their right mind would trust Holder, the ATF and HHS under Sebelius, to limit the reach of these new regulations? This proposal undermines states rights governing privacy. No where in the constitution is privacy rights given to the Federal Government, or the power to steal from the states. Not surprisingly, the spineless Republicans have not uttered a word against this power grab. The Republicans in the house control the purse strings of government. They could hold Justice, ATF and HHS to account,by defunding them. That's a fight worth having.

... and Feinstein said:
"All vets are mentally ill in some way and government should prevent them from owning firearms."

Yep, - she really said it on Thursday in a meeting in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee...

Even the LA Times was horrified!
