I love it.

This Is What Happens When Citizens Get Fed Up Over Speed Cameras

True, it is vandalism but its not exactly true to leave it at that for context that does matter exists. Rights are vandalized by these cameras- the rights of every person who is photographed abiding by the speed limit. Some REFUSE to admit that it's not SPEED being monitored alone with these cameras! Simple MOVEMENTS are being tracked as well. And THAT'S what the "vandalism" comments are missing- ignoring.

It is an unreasonable search by "law enforcement" to literally track the movements of everyone passing by. Asked that way, framed that way, I know of not even the hardest left loyalist who will claim it IS reasonable for government to track everyone's movements.

I oppose the mindless vandalism of property but I support destruction of malicious items that are and are intended to be trades of Liberty for the illusion of safety.

Speed limits are fine and indeed appropriate BUT there is only and offense when a person and or their property is ACTUALLY harmed. IE you only get punished for speeding when it is part of a crash! These cameras are being used to extort revenues in a pay to play scenario.

If speeding is so objectionable then a single offense or most assuredly the second should mean no more driving period. But the reality is that its not really a crime itself - but just a contributing factor when actual crimes occur - we have to remember how to separate real crimes from fakery used by politicians to steal our wealth.

Boy, I'm glad they didn't use Thermite. It would have been a very scary view, it would have attracted a lot of press, it would have totally destroyed the equipment and it's shell, and it would have sent an undoubtedly strong message, kind of a real red-line, a "You have abused the power we have given you, you better stop now or there will be consequences!" statement. I hope they keep it civil, we all know governments' interest is to keep us content and safe.

Speed and red light cameras are just tools used to squeeze the peasants for money. Not to mention the tracking of movement. I would be happier if people took a 10lb. hammer to them.

I hope that this act is merely symbolic (Ft. Sumter), or a beginning, of people pushing back. Seen in that context, those in power might be given pause for further strikes against rights. They can be extremely slow "picking up on things", which will require more aggressive action, but just maybe! Anyway, hurrah to the person responsible for taking the first step in the long march back.

Drivers will slow down for "Rumble Strips" cut into the pavement. Speed Bumps got their name for a reason, they work. If I wanted my picture taken, I would face the camera and smile ;-)
These cameras are for one purpose only, making CA$H for the Po Po.

Public outcry in AZ was so great for the highway cams that they were removed. Some vandalism occurred as well....drilling holes in them and filling them with expanding foam was one trick I saw online.

We still have the red light cams...which should also come down as a violation of the 4th...but most of the sheeple can be sold on the added safety since accident data stated that there was a reduction in crashes. Trading liberty for security again.....

I used to do that while living in MD - glad to see the tradition continues :-)
