Perhaps they can do something with stem cells to regrow that part of the esophagus? But, even so, that would probably be called experimental. I do think many things in medicine we would call miracles today will be accomplished in the future using stem cells. If at all possible, newborn babies' parents should have the placenta preserved. Then if the baby ever needs them, those stem cells are a perfect match to that baby its whole lifetime. At any rate, I hope some miracle is done to solve your problem, Mike. Only the best to you.

P.S. I didn't suggest stem cells above to start a discussion about the morality of using them. I sincerely hope this comment doesn't foster a response of that nature.
Mike, maybe they can "build" you some new parts. Dr. Atala build a whole new bladder for a kid, over a decade ago: http://www.ted.com/talks/anthony_atala_printing_a_human_kidney.html

Very discouraging, but we must keep the faith and redouble our prayers.
Since the treatment didn't work, do you get a refund?
Seriously though, what's next?
My prayers to you and Rosie for G-d's guidance, inspiration, and calm in the face of this continued health crisis.
