From Politico and elsewhere political questions about an exercise that doesn't add up one way or the other.

From Michael Walsh at the New York Daily News: Photo-op president shooting blanks.
But all these are tepid, marginal stuff.
And others are outright posturing — such as issuing a presidential memorandum “directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence” — or simply risible — such as the order to nominate a new director for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Um, what’s stopping you, Mr. President? (Of course, senators may well want to ask the ATF nominee about the Fast and Furious debacle.)
Gun advocates shrug at Obama’s executive actions.
From Real Clear Politics: Obama's Gun Violence Plan Faces Tall Odds in Congress
Two from Politico:
Why Obama might choose to lose on guns.
After the "do-it-for-the-kids" photo op, the impossible AWB politics of House and Senate and the almost silly 23 presidential "directions" -- not even executive orders -- has a lot of folks wondering what is really going on here.
LATER: From the Washington Post: What President Obama proposed on guns. And what might actually pass Congress.

So, did someone in the echo chamber finally get the word? Did they walk up to the edge and look over, finally see how deep the still waters really seem? That first step's a real cast iron bitch, isn't it?

Then there's part of me that's even more worried than before. All this b.s. in the media, this flurry of activity. For what?

I thought the same when I read the proposal's put out. There were no official executive orders among the 23 (Just 3 presidential memoranda and the rest were essentially guides for bureaucrats). As for the AWB, Magazine Size, etc, stuff that requires congress to pass, more than likely those will not pass this go round.
So is it possible that this administration saw the sheer numbers of weaponry/ammunition being purchased, combined with the blow back from the citizenry and preferred to wait until another crisis?

The fact that it 'doesn't add up' is a sure sign that the viper in chief is planning something in the 'Chicago Way'. That is to say, something crooked, corrupt, and lethal. Count on it...

Economists James Harrigan of Utah State University and Anthony Davies of Duquesne University in their January 12, 2013 article "The Gun Grabbers of January" have shown that based on the FBI Uniform Reports that:

"The firearm murder rate was slightly higher in the states with higher gun ownership rates [48% of households have access to a firearm] (2.9 per 100,000 population) than in the states with lower gun ownership rates [24% of households have access to a firearm] (2.7 per 100,000). But the overall murder rate was almost identical (4.3 per 100,000).

This suggests that controlling guns doesn‘t reduce murders but, at best, causes murderers to choose different weapons. In states with lower gun ownership rates, there were more robberies at gunpoint (39.5 per 100,000 people) than there were in states with higher gun ownership rates (30.1)."
...
"Gun violence has been steadily decreasing for more than 30 years. According to a 2011 report by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the rate of homicides (not only murders) involving firearms has been declining by almost 2 percent per year since 1980.
In 1980, there were 6.4 firearm-related homicides for every 100,000 people in the United States. By 2008 (the last year for which data are available), the rate had fallen by almost half to 3.6 — a rate not seen since the mid 1960s.
Note that homicide statistics are more comprehensive than murder statistics since homicides include intentional as well as unintentional and justified as well as unjustified killings."

Their conclusions?

"In fact, there is a lot less gun violence now than in past years. There is also no relationship between readily available firearms and levels of gun violence.

Given all of this, there are but two possibilities for the wave of gun-restricting legislation being newly discussed: Legislators are either woefully misinformed, which is unforgiveable, or they are using a terrible single event to justify their attempt to control the American people further — which is far worse."

You can save those CDC dollars.

From the Politico article:
"The senseless murder of children as they sat, bright-eyed, in their classrooms, pencils on paper, has moved him in a way that nothing, not even the shocking attack on then-Rep. Gabrielle Giffords two years ago, has."

Oh, please. We are talking about a psychopath who has himself blown up many children in the Middle East. Damn, I get tired of reading propaganda all the time.

I guess we get a short respite until the CIA stages another shooting. This ain't over by a damn sight.

If I recall correctly Congress banned the CDC from doing gun studies because of a long string of ideologically driven anti-gun pseudo science. By opening this up he is laying the foundation for more "science based" gun laws. He is also putting a subtle shot across congress bows to let them know he is willing and able to re-write the law then dare them to respond. If they don't he wins, if they do he makes them expend political time and capital on a side issue.

Barry's gun control executive order plan? It was like expecting to see a tidal wave, but instead all we saw was a toilet tank filling up.

This wasn't the "orders" he wanted to bring up. He backed off because the senate leaders told him what he originally wanted was a no-go.ngsagrow

This just enrages me. Statements which attempt to justify gun ownership through crime prevention and statistics, this report and that report.

These people KNOW **KNOW** that they are lying and they aren't going to stop until they no longer are capable of breathing. Most of them are Marxists who call themselves democrats, all of them are liars and traitors.

So, there sat the supreme leader B.O. sitting in a poker game with x-Marines for the frist time, 5 player, B.O. , two E-7 Gunnys, two E-6 Recon heavy wepons platoon leaders.

B.O. after winning a small pot that had few bets, says, hell this is easy, I'll go after their guns.

He gets his 5 cards, a pair of 4's and some junk. So, he ask for 3 cards and gets a 3, 8, 10 .

Two of the other four fold, one RECON guys takes two cards and one of the E-8's stays pat.

B.O. thinks, I have the running scared over their retirment checks,
so he bets the house in a big ass bluff.

One other of the Marines folds but the old mean looking E-8, "I Call"

Seems he had a stright flush and was willing to use the flush handle.

B.O. folds up like a cheap tent.

Either the rogue regime blinked, freaked out by arms, ammo sales and revolution trembles...or something else planned.

On the erratic behavior of this administration: First off, IMHO, there is no evidence that Zero is running anything. He needs a teleprompter or follows a strict script, there really is no insight to who he is as a human being. He’s sheltered, protected by propaganda ministry, and from visitor description in White Hut, comes to meetings dazed, late, or misses them. This man is highly medicated sodomite and a compromised puppet, seriously.

Obama this, Obama that is all that’s heard from the press by design; he’s a useful foil, a “black man” who gains sympathy or racist charges, a calm very soft spoken metrosexual to placate the masses. All by design for the commies n muzzies behind him who rose the undocumented self-proclaimed "born in Kenya" fraud to power.

The reason so much chaotic changing messages out of the White Hut in my opinion is because it’s being run by women, that is Valerie Jarrett, Michelle Obama.. along with outside cadre of black radicals, muzzies, and globalists, who have no understanding of American culture and are completely out of touch.

Jarrett is an advisor with SS protection, has put in the czars, and lots more. Barry is getting run ragged by these hags.

I have been toiling in these fields for a quarter century, longer if I include my long life as an AMERICAN, and I am done caring what "They" do.

It is, purely and simply, what I will do about it, what YOU will do about it, that matters now.

Now? Hell, that is what has ALWAYS mattered and why we are in this piss pot now... we should have acted upon Founding Principles long, long ago.

The regime has vacated any legitimacy they may ever have had long, long ago. They are a wholly owned criminal subsidiary of the globalist/fascist/mercantilists who bear no allegiance to the Rule of Law as expressed in the Constitution, DoI or BoR.

They should be treated just as we would deal with any other thieves and murderers.

They are ideologically incapable of listening.

They will cheerlead a civil war.

Until it is upon them.
