From the Wall Street Journal.
1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.
8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).
9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.
10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.
11. Nominate an ATF director.
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.
14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.
15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
17. Release a letter to health-care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law-enforcement authorities.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
19. Develop model emergency-response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental-health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

Looks to me like some of these "executive actions" are primarily aimed at allowing state medical records to be made available to federal agencies for review.

The bottom of the page listed under ' Idea`s ' and the phrase ' pliable Senate ' are where the nitty gritty of this thing is at . Need to get on the phones now and start letting that bunch here from us.

What's the point of #6?

No federal requirement to seek permission to sell my private property.

Not yet anyway.

Incrementalism. Pure and simple.

#4. "Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks." I wonder if Holder will interpret his marching orders to include those names on the phony "no fly list"? The FBI reported over 5,000 illegal aliens tries to buy guns. I'll bet not a single one was ever arrested, even though it is totally illegal for them to attempt to buy. How can you have a so-called justice system, when the main players are human cockroaches? Oh yeah, see number #11. Brandon gets his day in the sun.

I believe this is a deliberate "Relatively Soft" opening gambit by Obama, to lull us into a false sense of security, then during the congressional deliberation's on Assault Weapon's Ban's in Washington, a government "false Flag" will happen, that will give the repubs in the House cover to switch enough votes over to Ban Assault Weapon's or atleast magazines.

We can not let this head-fake take our eye off the ball. The battle now moves to Congress. Do not let any senator or rep duck the issue. If they do not take a public stand against inane new gun regulations, then for a start they should not be eligible for an NRA 'A' rating.

Not nearly as bad as I expected, but I think that this is a sign of a long game. If he did import bans today, the AWB may have been DOA due to the outrage over his orders.

Now, he can still do it if the AWB fails, but until then, he can push for the AWB and say, "Look, I've been reasonable on the Executive Orders--this is reasonable too."

All in all this is a pretty feeble effort at citizen disarmament. It shows how weak our enemies are at the national level.

Now it is our turn to fight back and go on the offensive. Take careful aim and do not wait until you see the whites of their eyes before letting loose with a volley of truth, justice and political whoop-ass. To the battlements we go.

Maybe I can still get that PSL I have been looking at after all!

Private sellers?

Guess where this is headed.

I'm sure I'll have many comments about that list, but here's my first one:

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

They might want to read the bill again. Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c says, the government cannot use doctors to collect "any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition."

I suppose it could be said the government cannot REQUIRE doctors to collect this information, but it can encourage them to do. That is precisely what #16 aims to do, let's see if doctors go along with it. I say it's none of their business!

Just seems a little too "weak sauce" to me. Makes me want to immediately hear reports from the flanks.
Stay aware. Don't let up. Keep contacting your Senators and Representatives as well as those who are introducing legislation that could affect you nationwide. Now is not the time to exhale.

No importation bans, yet, but plenty more big government and intrusion into our lives.

As a physician, I can't seem to remember whether or not my patients and I talk about such things as guns, UNLESS there is IMMINENT risk of danger. At that point, it goes in the record. In 30 yrs I have probably acted on that <5 times.

Then again, I won't be touching any $$ coming from Obama(nation)care, anyway.

There will be another mass shooting, whether or not it's real or a false flag (and Sandy Hook stinks to high heaven), then they will demand MORE. Count on it. This is how these statist people work.

Just for all FYI executive actions ARE NOT EOs they DO NOT carry "force of law" They can ONLY effect EXISTING LAW. What Obama did today carrys no more force than a dog fart. It was all "show" and no"go". He pulled a head fake. What he DID DO was, PUBLICLY ADDMIT that ONLY congress and the American people have power over guns. For now this ones over.

It's time to impeach All of them. The pres, the senate and the house. They have all abdicated their oath of office.

23 executive actions, yet not one of them refer to the criminal "gang" element.

A big mess of bureaucratic oatmeal that will be forgotten in 3 months, except Obama can now claim to his constituency that he is working for "reasonable gun control". Nothing to get our panties in a bind over, gang.

The statist Bill the Shill is trying to sell the Conservative leaning voters who watch the Obriely Facticious show, that registration of firearms is a Good thing. He is also trying to sell the prevention of traveling with semi-autos across state lines.

What I see is the foundation for continued attacks based on innuendo and hearsay. ie; they have been calling for "reasonable' and "common sense" restrictions. In other words, if you don't agree with their agenda then, you are not reasonable and you lack common sense.

Take it a step farther and suppose TPTB begins to troll for comments on internet forums as an indication of mental instability....you see where it goes from there? Label anyone who disagrees with the plan as a kook, someone with a mental health issue and bingo, you lose! No need for an accredited psychiatric evaluation based on criminal actions or overt threats. Just hearsay. If someone says you are nuts then you lose your guns!

Keep in mind, this is soft peddling phase 1. This pack of criminals has 4 years to push more and more of the same. Masters of manipulation.

To gunnies all of his proposals seem silly; they have nothing to do with safety. To the uninformed - uneducated the ideas make obama look thoughtful, wise and just (a benevolent monarch). We must show our opponents that they are not serious people and that their ideas are the ideas of children and imbecile children at that. All of the progressives must be continually mocked. To mock someone effectively you need to do it in a manner they despise.

"I believe this is a deliberate "Relatively Soft" opening gambit by Obama..."

I agree with this completely. Step 1 was just taken by Obama, Step 2 take the more draconian stuff to the Congress where it will languish, Step 3 false flag event/another mass shooting, Step 4 Obama declares Congress incompetent and ineffective and issues his new exec orders. Steps 5 - 10 include our Ft. Sumter event, culminating in civil war.

If your doctor ever asks you about your gun ownership, or if you have any guns in your home, tell him it is none of his business because it has nothing to do with medical care. If he disagrees, find another doctor!

Speaking of background checks, how about a real background check on our phony in chief. Birth cert, college records, ect. Fraud on a massive scale.

Again, nothing on the real problem of anti-depressants: http://www.ssristories.com/.

How much pressure drug lobbyists are putting on politicians to keep this under the radar?

Mike,

I think this one is the one we should be most concerned with and I'll tell you why.

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

In the business there is an unpublished requirement called the Ten Traces Rule. What it means is this: Any gun dealer that gets back more than ten trace requests in a single calendar year might be selling a lot of "crime guns", and so ATF can (and always does) require that dealer to sublit a quarterly report using THIS form:

http://atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5300-5.pdf

detailing EVERY GUN TAKEN IT FROM AN INDIVIDUAL, THEIR NAME AND ADDRESS, AND TO WHOM THAT GUN WAS LATER SOLD, WITH THE BUYERS NAME AND ADDRESS. This requirement is permanent for as long as the dealer retains their license. And I'm given to understand the records are kept by ATF permanently. I learned of this while working part-time for a now retired dealer in Missouri a few years ago.

If they can force every gun recovered to be traced, more and more dealers will fall under this rule and all those records will be made available to ATF. Now if private sales can be made to all go through ATF....? Backdoor registration? You decide.

Insidious-
"16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes."
Liberal Doctors are already doing this. I have heard of multiple occurances.
Question to the Doctor: "How is that any business of yours? If I have a gun, are you coming to steal it?
On the other hand, if I don't have a gun, are you coming to rob me?
It's none of your f***ing business. Are you a criminal, undercover government agent? Your sign says you are a doctor. Then be a doctor. In fact you can be someone elses doctor. You are not mine anymore."

This proves that Obama planned to use "health care" to grab guns all along. Using doctors as snitches, and "mental heath" to take the guns. The criminally insane have taken over the asylum.

Don't bury your guns, bury those that would take them!
