"The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again."
With delusional statements like that I'm not expecting anything good. My blood is already starting to boil. Time to cut up my membership card and tell Wayne and Co. to shove it?
I expect them to cower cry and buckle just like Boehner is..
They havent done anything for American gun owners but negotiate away our rights in the last 50 years.. If the left really thought they were dangerous they would be infiltrating them, investigating them and their families and posting dirt to discredit them and be continually attacking them all personally but somehow the quislings at the NRA always get a pass from scum like Ed Schultz and the other mouth breathing bottom feeders in commie world tv.. wonder why..
JPFO or GOA but never ever the NoRiflesAnymore quislings.
I'm an endowment member of NRA. That is a step above a life member. I don't expect the NRA to compromise Friday. They know that the second amendment is not about "sporting purposes" only. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well they will stand up for us. They know that significant blame for mass murders in schools belongs to the fact that schools are gun-free zones, which are killing fields for mass murderers! I urge you all to contact your local school district superintendent and school board and help them create a really effective way to protect school employees and students. If you have been wondering how you can help, well that's how. For whatever its worth, I'm doing that now. - Old Greybeard
My membership (and my wife's) expires next month. How the NRA handles this situation will decide whether we renew or not. NRA: your members are watching; do the right thing and don't back down.
In the 130 years of the NRA's existence we have lost more gun rights than at any other time in our Republic's history. I fully expect them to bend over as they have in the past.
On a more positive note, this from Natural News:
The retired police captain told me that, "Door-to-door confiscation by men and women in blue [i.e. city cops] would be a suicide mission." If ordered to conduct such gun confiscation actions, many would simply resign on the spot rather than risk their lives in firefights with determined gun owners, he explained. "Our officers are not generally willing to assume the increased risk of such a police action."
The USMC veteran told me that some of the younger soldiers would go along with gun confiscation if ordered, but that nearly all the older military personnel would likely refuse such orders, even at risk of a court martial. "Some of the guys actually talked about this on deployment. The E-1's might follow those orders but most of us who managed to stay alive through a couple of tours are too smart for that. You'd have AWOL out the ass. We didn't sign up to engage Americans as enemy combatants. The answer would be F*%K NO all the way up the chain of command."
Anon 9:04 - We'll see. I expect the NRA to come up with (or sponsor) legislation that restricts the rights of those judged to be 'mentally ill' - this will include kids and adults with ADD/ADHD and vets with PTSD.
We are as strong as we will ever be RIGHT NOW. You want to keep your guns? THEN FIGHT!!! The day we surrender the Commi scum will start sending us to "re-education". The scum in DC mean to exterminate us.This is it MAN UP. Or see your children sent to the "Obama youth" and taught to worship satin. Or do you want to listen to the jeers of your enemys as you ride the death trains? If we fight they kill us,If we don't fight they kill us. Want to fight with a gun or a pointy stick and a kitchen knife? Times up.
And since I am now for due for re-up w/ NRA, and funds are short this year to belong to more than one, maybe two organizations.... Their statement will determine whether they, or somone else gets support/dues funds this year. Just sayin...

I'm afraid that I know what the NRA is made of. I hope that I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

I think John Boehner's next job should be Head of the NRA. He's been training for it, by caving for years!
