"Just days after appearing on the National Geographic TV Show Doomsday Prepper, a prepper from Tennessee has been declared Mentally Defective and his guns have been seized by the government." His first mistake? -- Going on TV and expecting anything different than what he got. Not that this isn't an outrage, just sayin'.

No more Katrinas.

And this cat honestly thought the NRA would help him?
Uh huh. Suuuuure it would.
I suspect there is a lot more to the story, especially the suicidal thing, but inalienable means inalienable - and if we lose that, then anyone can be deemed mental defective - wronged people pissed off abut a system that screws them even more, Soldiers fully wrapped with PTSD, anyone who thinks progressive liberalism is traitorous......
Something tell me that this is not the last we hear about this and other "preppers". Now, establishment media wouldn't want to fabricating anything, would they??? Surely not....
The Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China are infamous for using "mental illness" as a pretext to ride themselves of "class enemies."
How about we chalk this up in the "Too stupid to be trusted with weapons since he exposed his strategy to the enemy?" As one of my favorite philosophers - Bugs Bunny- would say; "What a maroon!"
TV had nothing to do with it, saying the wrong thing to his cardiologist did. This is, to some extent self-inflicted. They need to fix it though, and the lawyer he had did not apparently properly represent him.
I wonder if they would have tried this with someone who has money.
The answer is unfortunately obvious.
He needs a new doctor, he needs his surgery and he needs to be left alone by the government. Do they really think this man can't figure a way to kill himself without guns?
This had nothing to do with safety, and everything to do with pushing someone around who can't push back and making sure everybody knows who's in charge.
You have no constitutional rights, only what government thinks should happen to you on a daily basis. Probable cause is what your doctor thinks and by extention anyone else? I'm sure the founders imtended that when they wrote the bill of rights and constitution.
Hey I got an idea why dont we stop eating our own and throwing this guy under the bus. Yes he made mistakes, but you guys are assuming he said anything to his doctor.
Remember the medical community is full of CDC, DHHS jock sniffers who buy into the "guns are a public health hazard" nonsense. He didnt have to say anything to his doctor about his fire arms. All his doctor did was see him on TV as a prepper and he saw fit to stick it to this guy. The doctor needs to be the one who "receives the benefits" here.

Weeeeell.....the Japanese have a saying: "If you look like a nail, you're going to get hammered".
It's true.
How foolish is it to talk to people about your prepping activities, what you've got stored in your home, etc and then worse yet, agree to go on TV for the whole world to see?
Otherwise.....I think those shows are designed with one thing in mind: To make Liberty-minded people look crazy.
I've seen the commercials for that show. Only thought:
OPSEC, duh.
The best prepper doesn't look like one.
One cardiologist needs to help the world by becoming an organ donor.
