Lawrence Tribe whistles past the legal graveyard on the "Health Care" Mandate.

Lawrence Tribe sez On Health Care, Justice Will Prevail. Meaning, of course, the collectivist's form of "justice" which is your enemies in prisons or graveyards.

A phrase that stuck out to me:

Those judges made the confused assertion that what is at stake here is a matter of personal liberty — the right not to purchase what one wishes not to purchase — rather than the reach of national legislative power in a world where no man is an island.

Well, why don't you come to my island, Lawrence, and see if your "national legislative power" reaches that far? I will never buy what you tell me to buy. I will not pay a fine. I will not be peaceably arrested by the IRS raid squad for my refusal. And there are a lot more than the one of me who thinks the same thing. So you'd better pray the system works and the Supremes throw this unconstitutional piece of excrement out. Otherwise, you're going to find out who's really "confused."

"A political objection in legal garb."
And racist, too, against the first black president. Who the hell do we think we are?
The Supreme Court ruled that mandatory Social Security is constitutional because if people COULD opt out the system would collapse. Well, because of government fraud and waste, it's collapsing anyway and we are not allowed to abandon the Titanic.
A Democrat analyst on "Freedom Watch" said we shouldn't worry about bad parts of bills being passed because there are so many that there's no way they could all make it into the final law and they could never enforce them all anyway.
That's just pathetic.
I, too, will not comply.
The local talk radio played a clip from a Reagan speech. A Cuban refugee was telling of his escape from Castro. Listeners remared that we Americans are SO lucky.
"No, said the refugee, "*I* had somewhere to escape to."

To your warning Lawrence Tribe would scoff, ridicule, and belittle you, I'm sure; but to little effect.
If this mandate is not overturned they will be shocked into reality when things escalate beyond personal opinion, persuasive words, and even court rulings. I'd suggest sending him a Depends undergarment so he can be prepared for that day.

Amen Mike.

Big,fat, Marxist mouths, with bullhorns, so they can shout anyone else down. I'm sorry to say that not too long ago, someone like this scumbag, would have been relieved of his bullhorn, and means to use it by a punch in the mouth.

But things have gotten a lot more serious than then and so have the remedies.

No, it will not be just you.

If this doesn't get tossed and these scum actually try to enforce it, I hope they try to do it in a physical way. Like come to our doors with a piece of paper in their hand and an armed force behind them. But I'm sure they would do it in such a way as we can't quite reach out and touch them as we would like, such as garnishing wages. This is what funneling people into a paycheck dependency was all about in the first place.

Employer or order server, either way, I would not want to be the one who allows or attempts the enforcement of it.

Look what angry and unarmed Egyptians did and they never had the taste of American freedom, nor was their reason for rage even close to what something like this would bring. No, I can't bring myself to think of what would happen here in a freedom-enjoying and heavily armed America if the People got that pissed off. But by golly, assholes like this Lawrence Tribe person better think about it.

Mike, you need your own "Wit and Wisdom" column somewhere.

Meh. Notice how there is no section where people can comment on this POS article?

Gladly spending other people's money for what he thinks is for "social progress" or "the common good".

Same old statist/progressive bullshit.

Bite me, Lawrence.

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.--John Donne

How does John Donne justify Lawrence Tribe's medical collectivism? Why concern yourself with a friend's manor if private property rights are not sacrosanct? Sheesh! ;^(
