Say a prayer.

The nurse looks happy. Not so sure about the guy in the tube.

I'm on my way to my first HBO treatment. Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I will be back on line sometime this evening.

Mike, are you going to into cryogenic sleep, and then wake up in 200 years to find our Republic restored to it's founding principles?
Seriously, I know about HBO, I too have diabetus and lousy feet and have spent a time in those tubes, now I know how hamsters feel.

Good luck. Prayer said.

PS. My grandmother had one leg amputated at the knee at age 94, the second removed at age 101. She lived to age 102.

I used to escort inmates for HBO at a local hospital. Does wonders for your circulation, and all the oxygen is really good for you.

I hope it works well for you. Take a book with you next time, or a pile of magazines.

Hope it went well. Many people report more clarity in thought and heightened perceptions after treatments, although some do find themselves unconsciously doing the Moonwalk in grocery store aisles.

If it's none of my damned business, feel free to say so with no hard feelings.

My references show thirteen approved diagnoses for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. None of them look good.

Air or Gas Embolism;
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning and Smoke Inhalation;
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Complicated by Cyanide Poisoning;
Clostridial Myonecrosis (Gas Gangrene);
Crush Injury, Compartment Syndrome, and other Acute Traumatic Ischemias;
Decompression Sickness (the "Bends");
Enhancement of Healing in Selected Problem Wounds;
Exceptional Blood Loss (Anemia);
Necrotizing Soft Tissue Infections;
Osteomyelitis (Refractory);
Radiation Tissue Damage (Osteoradionecrosis);
Skin Grafts and Flaps (Compromised);
Thermal Burns

Prayers said. God bless you & your family, and get well soon.

You'll come out cancer-free, in all of the tissues of your body. The cancer research that led to what is now generally called "photodynamic therapy" was based on the observations of Navy doctors who'd treated divers who had to be recompressed after going too deep or staying too long. Their patients came out of the chamber cancer-free. A researcher at Roswell Park Memorial in Buffalo, NY noticed that certain molecules in the blood (hematoporphyrins) released oxygen when stimulated with a couple of different wavelengths of light. They also bind specifically to tumor cells, so it is used to 'tag' cancer cells, then release oxygen locally with low powered laser light, killing the targeted cancer. It was very inexpensive ($60/dose) and effective - kills the tumor within minutes - and leaves nice, unscarred tissue behind after about a week. And it treats all epithelial (inside or outside body surface) cancers - which account for about 95% of all cancers.

That's why those SOBs at the FDA sat on it for almost two decades longer than was necessary, by requiring data on each specific kind of cancer doctors proposed to treat with it, even though it was obvious it could treat all of the same kind of tissue. As long as you could get a laser light to the site, either outside with a fiber optic or inside with endoscopes, bronchoscopes or what have you, it would kill the tumor in minutes.

And so now, because of all the testing it had to do, the big pharma company (Axcan) that bought the patent rights to the compound (Photofrin), charges $7,000/dose to cover their research costs. I suppose there's a nice big fat percentage they sluice off to their exec's and stockholders, too.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is probably less expensive now.

First the government holds back an effective, cheap and non-invasive therapy for 20 years, then they help drive up the price of the drug by forcing the pharmaceutical company to re-test the drug on every different kind of cancer it can be used on. Nice.

This is the SAME government that works hand-in-hand with the AMA and big pharma to keep medical costs as high as the market will stand. And we think that ObamaCare is going to be any better?

Right. That's why I no longer work in government sponsored 'medical research'.

P.S. To anybody who knows anybody with one of these types of cancer - the stuff really works, and is now widely available (if the information and knowledgeable doctors aren't). See cancercenter.com or the Axcan website photofrin.com to find a doctor/clinic who uses it. It's now considered a 'standard' therapy, but make sure your insurance will cover it.

JRM,
One more reason to "down-size" gov't!

impressive outline from JRM on just how the state helps cartelize industries!

if only a majority of americans would see this, and also apply it to all medicine, defense, money, security, energy, law, poverty, transportation, conservation, water, steel, mining, education, insurance, trading, investment, retirement, roads, bridges, and so on ad nauseam, admit it's been going on forever, move past denial and guilt, and get free, then one day we might actually be able to do away with the economic incentives for sociopaths to get into government and screw us over every single day of our lives by ruining the very things we deem mission-critical and then holding us hostage to them when we suggest its time to shrink the government.
