What "Hutaree" Means

Everybody has been asking, in one form or the other, "What does 'Hutaree' mean?" And is it "Who-tar-eee" or "Hut-tar-ee"? The correct pronunciation seems to be "Who-tar-eee," but I had to turn to CPT R.A. Bear, the S-2 of the formidable and legendary Dogtown Rangers for an explanation of the meaning of the word.

Young CPT Bear was understanding. "I'm not surprised you don't know, hardly anybody does."

"Well?"

"'Hutaree' is a Shawnee word meaning 'stupid white man.'"

LOL! I once read a "Far-Side" calendar entry that had an elderly Lone Ranger looking up the word "Kemosabe" (spelling?) in the dictionary. It read "a horse's ass". I almost cried I laughed so hard.

ROFL!

Seriously, can you believe that Wikipedia has a full page article about the Hutaree (Stupid White Men). Amazing to me.

Interestingly, it links the the Huttaree website (http://www.hutaree.com/), and the Hutaree website links to sites that appear perfectly rational, like Voice of the Martyrs.

Seems that the post on the FBI, above, is a worth reviewing and remembering.
