Praxis: REMF's back down on P-Mag ban. The previous clarification rescinding the original clarification has itself been re-clarified. Is that clear?

Army Now Says No Ban on Rifle Magazines.
The Pentagon has clarified the Army’s stance on a recent safety message that effectively banned a certain high-performance, commercial M4 magazine, which means soldiers can keep using their PMAGs.

Waste-of-Time Hearing Demonstrates GOP Impotence Once Again. In fact, to call this an exercise in limp-dickery is an insult to honest limp-dicks everywhere.

They were all disloyal. I tried to run the ship properly by the book, but they fought me at every turn. If the crew wanted to walk around with their shirttails hanging out, that's all right, let them! Take the towline - defective equipment, no more, no less. But they encouraged the crew to go around, scoffing at me and spreading wild rumors about steaming in circles and then 'Old Yellowstain.' I was to blame for Lieutenant Issa's incompetence and poor seamanship. Lieutenant Issa was the perfect officer, but not Captain Boehner. Ah, but the strawberries! That's, that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with, with geometric logic, that, that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox did exist. And I would have produced that key if they hadn't pulled the GOP leadership out of action. I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officer. . . Naturally, I can only cover these things from memory. . . But I know for sure I didn't cut a deal with Admiral Obama.
"Old Yellowstain" Boehner plays with his balls and demonstrates his limp-dickery for all to see.
Michelle Malkin tweets afterward: "And that's a #fastandfurious wrap. Eric Stonewall Holder gets to walk away, scot-free, again. Remember in November!"
Bullshit, Michelle. Sorry, I respect you for your early support on the Gunwalker Scandal, but that's bullshit. Either the Obamanoid criminal pukes win the election, in which case the investigation gets buried, or the Romney-Boehner-McConnell Cabal of GOP Weenies wins the election, in which case the investigation gets buried.
The only hope in DC is for Issa to break ranks with his leadership and begin leaking the damning documents he certainly has to CBS and FOX. And if he doesn't, he's complicit too.
There is, of course, one last hope after that fails --- that the people can motivate these weasels by threatening to overturn Romney's political applecart. More on that tomorrow. Right now I want to go puke.

Senator Asks DOJ to Investigate SWAT-ting Attacks on Conservative Bloggers

I'm sure Eric Holder's gonna jump right on this one.

Holder to appear before House Judiciary Committe today.

Will have more later after I see how serious the GOP is.

Congressman Chaffetz on Greta: "Where do the lies end and the truth begins?"

Well, gee, I dunno Congressman, but since you have Mitt Romney's ear, why don't you ask HIM.

"Old Yellowstain" Boehner Crawfishing Again. "Don't believe a damn word from Boehner, his lips are moving."

Old Yellowstain Blues
The latest adventures of "Old Yellowstain" Boehner and his apparent cravenly campaign to sell-out the search for justice in the Gunwalker Conspiracy Investigation began here in the New York Times yesterday with a story by White House lickspittle Charlie Savage headlined: "Boehner Aides in Talks With Justice Dept. on Gun-Running Inquiry."
As Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. prepares to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, Justice Department officials praised the House Republican leadership – including Speaker John Boehner – for opening negotiations with the Justice Department about resolving a dispute over subpoenaed information related to the botched gun-trafficking investigation dubbed Operation Fast and Furious.
The move comes as Representative Darrell Issa, the California Republican who is chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, has threatened to hold Mr. Holder in contempt over the subpoena, which he issued last fall. It suggests that administration officials see a potential conflict between Mr. Issa and Mr. Boehner over pushing forward with a contempt citation.
Deputy Attorney General James Cole said in a letter on Tuesday to Mr. Boehner and other House Republican leaders that their staffs in recent weeks “have had a number of constructive conversations” that held out the prospect of a “mutually acceptable resolution of these issues.” He said those conversations “stand in contrast” with the tone Mr. Issa had adopted, including in a letter of his own on Tuesday.
The same day this story appeared at the LE Examiner:"GOP backing down from Holder contempt resolution."
Early this morning, Matthew Boyle of the Daily Caller ran this semi-rebuttal from the Boehner people -- "Boehner spokesman: NY Times story about Holder Fast and Furious compromise is false."
After The Daily Caller reached out to Savage for comment, pointing out how Boehner’s office said his article was false, The New York Times edited his story removing the statement Boehner’s office said was false and changing the focus of the article, while adding a quote from Boehner’s spokesman. The online version of the article contains no correction or explanation as to why Savage’s story was changed after the fact. A note tells readers the article was “updated” at 11:39 p.m.
Savage has still not returned TheDC’s request for comment on why he printed false information to begin with and why he made no effort to contact Boehner’s office to check the veracity of his unattributed claims before printing the inaccurate information.
David Codrea calls this "Gunwalker Ping-Pong" and provides the marvelous photo of Boehner as Captain Queeg above.
So, what are we to believe about all of this? When it comes to Boehner, believe exactly dick. All he has to do to dispel such talk is to fast track the contempt citation for Holder. Has he? Of course not. So don't believe a damn word from Boehner, his lips are moving.

Off to another doc this morning.

Will have posts later.

Interesting analysis. Future tense, X: The fourth revolution by James Piereson.

On the possibility of a forthcoming political revolution.
My comment:
Anyone who believes that we get out of this hydra headed crisis of legitimacy without serious bloodshed is whistling past the graveyard of history. The ultimate question to be answered is who serves whom? Do the people serve the government or the government, the people? This is not a question that can be finessed, only settled one way or the other after a bloodletting.
Why do you think that, in the middle of the Great Recession, more firearms are sold in increasing quantities every month FOR THE PAST THREE AND A HALF YEARS? We're talking millions of firearms and billions of rounds of ammunition every month.
That is a strategic military fact that the forces of Leviathan ought to consider carefully.

Indiana Sets A Model For All States

Works for me.

Half-hearted half-measures. Trying to prove they're still doing something, the Issa Committee writes another letter. Where's the contempt citation?

Fast and Furious wiretap information obtained by Congress

Choosing sides. Starting to feel like 1861 again.

Recall Stirs Passion in a Purple State
Tuesday's election on whether to recall Mr. Walker has so bitterly divided this state that many residents live in parallel societies, limiting themselves to like-minded friends, separate drinking holes and sympathetic media outlets.
Triggered by a backlash against the Republican governor's move 15 months ago to crimp collective bargaining for the state's public employees, the recall race has pitted neighbor against neighbor, damaged decades-old friendships, and, in one case, led a woman to drive into her husband when he tried to stop her from voting for Mr. Walker's opponent in a primary last month. . .
"I don't have any of them for friends anymore," Mr. Ertel said of those with whom he might disagree. "It's just better to ignore them."

Off to Doctor this morning.

More posts later.

Fear factors: What worries Romney backers

So why isn't Romney worried about alienating gun owners in swing states over helping cover-up the Gunwalker scandal? Does he think we're not going to notice?

David Codrea: Republicans balking on Fast and Furious help suppress new information.

“That’s frightening,” Walters remarked. “Frightening. Free society? Free? These people are petrified of their own government and won’t open their mouths.”

Today is the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre

Whenever my daughters and I are watching some movie about atrocities such as this or the Rwandan genocide or the Holocaust, I always ask them the question: "And what didn't they have?" The answer they have learned to give is simple: "Firearms." "Damn right," I reply, "and the will to use them."

A Glimpse Inside the Romney Campaign.

Romney's the boss, and that bodes ill for the country. Understand one thing: if Romney wins he will have done so despite the conservative wing of his party. He will owe them nothing. Indeed, he will have done so by characteristically and uncomfortably adopting conservative themes -- and from reading this you can bet he resents it. Thus, it is easy to predict that people who vote based on "anybody but Obama" will come to regret it. Romney is perhaps even more unprincipled than Obama, and he will be more effective in demonstrating his displeasure at people he resents and owes nothing to.

Now this is interesting.

War in the White House: attorney general Eric Holder and top Obama adviser David Axelrod 'had to be separated'
Eric Holder, Barack Obama's attorney general and David Axelrod, his top political adviser had to be separated after squaring up during a furious row over attempts to impose White House operatives in the justice department. . .
The argument is said to have erupted over attempts to add a political official to the staff of Mr Holder, who has presided over a handful of political and public relations blunders since taking office in 2009.

Still here. Nothing new from DC, although their excuse time is running out.

Have spent the weekend trying to gather stuff for a yard sale next week to defray the medical expenses. The physical activity is good for me, but I still tire easily. No news from the District of Criminals. Will have some posts tomorrow.

Matthew Boyle tries to get Romney Campaign on record about the Gunwalker Scandal. (You guessed it -- they ain't talkin'.) OTOH, either Romney can start talking about it on his own or it can be fixed so that he will be forced to talk about it by events.

"Congressman: Romney should be pushing for Fast and Furious accountability."
Arizona Republican Rep. Paul Gosar told The Daily Caller on Friday that he thinks former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney should help push for accountability in the aftermath of Operation Fast and Furious.
“I think he does [need to be more vocal],” Gosar said in a phone interview. “I think that people, as they find out about this, are outraged. I think Gov. Romney, with his platform of accountability, needs to bring this forward to explain what is wrong and why his administration won’t be anything like this, outlying the checks and balances that he sees and how the Department of Justice’s role is not a legislative one, it’s about enforcing the laws that are on the books not picking winners and losers.”
Romney has brought up Fast and Furious only twice during the current election cycle. In December, he demanded Attorney General Eric Holder’s resignation over the scandal after initially balking at the question. In early April at the NRA convention Romney repeated that call and praised Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley and House oversight committee Chairman Darrell Issa for their work on Fast and Furious. . .
Many questions about this scandal remain unanswered as the White House and the Department of Justice have resisted talking about it.
The Romney campaign has resisted talking about it, too. Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul has not returned requests for comment from TheDC for months and the presumptive GOP presidential nominee hasn’t mentioned the scandal in about two months. . .
Romney’s decision to highlight another Obama administration scandal, Solyndra, this week has sparked significant mainstream media coverage of the failed solar energy investment and the appearance of cronyism behind it. Romney put that scandal in headlines across the country – coverage that has led to an embarrassing gaffe from White House press secretary Jay Carney, and renewed interest in unanswered questions about Solyndra.
Gosar thinks Romney could help put national focus back on Fast and Furious, especially considering how Holder has demonstrably failed to comply with all 22 parts of a congressional subpoena for documents relating to the scandal.
“The more the media covers it, the better,” he said, praising several media outlets who have covered Fast and Furious in depth. “The problem is this love affair the mainstream media has with this administration and this president and trying to hide the facts of how inadequate their policies and understanding of our government actually is. . .”
“We need this to come to the forefront and we need accountability from the media as well,” Gosar added. “They’re here to report responsible, unbiased dictations to the American people, and I think once we can get that, we’re going to see a lot more streamlining of information as well as accountability for these individuals that have been so egregious in their attempts at destroying this country and its Constitution.”
Gosar said he thinks that if Carney was forced to answer questions about Fast and Furious in a similar manner to how Solyndra came up this week, the White House press secretary would only be able to utter a cartoon character response: “That, that, that’ll be all folks.”
“Then, I think what that does is it puts the focus and the spotlight under the magnifying glass,” Gosar said. “And, first of all, that’s why they’ve stalled: They have no answers. It’s because their hands are tied to the cookie jar. . .”
Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul did not respond to multiple requests for comment for this story.
Note: Either Romney can start talking about it on his own or it can be fixed so that he will be forced to talk about it by events. The clock is running.

Just checking in.

Doing a bit better overall health-wise. Still a slow climb though. Am working on as much as I can, when I can. God bless those of you who donated subscriptions lately, they have kept a wolf or two away from the door, medical bills being what they are. Trying to do something about that myself, but no promises yet.
