Choosing sides. Starting to feel like 1861 again.

Recall Stirs Passion in a Purple State
Tuesday's election on whether to recall Mr. Walker has so bitterly divided this state that many residents live in parallel societies, limiting themselves to like-minded friends, separate drinking holes and sympathetic media outlets.
Triggered by a backlash against the Republican governor's move 15 months ago to crimp collective bargaining for the state's public employees, the recall race has pitted neighbor against neighbor, damaged decades-old friendships, and, in one case, led a woman to drive into her husband when he tried to stop her from voting for Mr. Walker's opponent in a primary last month. . .
"I don't have any of them for friends anymore," Mr. Ertel said of those with whom he might disagree. "It's just better to ignore them."

This is what America will be like in November 2012.
There is no up side to this, only victors and victims. Time will tell how it plays out but we are at the crossroads and a decision is at hand.

I've been saying it for a long time; this whole mess is going to pit neighbor against neighbor.

Is the rest of the peasantry this dense?

When I look at the divisions separating the left and right in this re-call vote and see the venomous hatred between the two sides, I think to myself, "Wow! I"ll sure have a lot of enemies WTSHTF". Fortunately, because the left abhors guns, I should be able to control the situation locally with my Daisey BB gun. That will be dependent upon an unknown, unknown, which is: what side the neo-nazi praetorian guard comes down on. As if I didn't really know!

Divide and conquer seems to be playing out just as planned....

They don't get the same information you d,o because the media prevents that and manipulates them with propaganda creating fear, hatred and most damaging of all, closed minds.

If you've noticed, there is no arguing with some of them, no matter what you show them as evidence. It doesn't matter. They are that indoctrinated. The words ring in my ears, freedom is like trying to explain water to a fish, only these fish live in water created by the media.

Actually, it feels more like 1935 in Spain. We're awaiting our Calvo Sotelo moment.

The Left abhors *private gun ownership*; it has no problem with guns as a means of enforcing State policy. That's a crucial distinction. If/when it comes to a shooting war, like as not, their forces will be quite well equipped.

This is good, not 1861. The screaming is coming from the left. And this is how they have been taught to manipulate and brow-beat when they don't get their socialist way-- kicking, screaming, shouting that others are Nazis, etc. It is straight from Alinsky- it is a learned behavior, not an indication we as a nation are coming unglued. Study leftist tactics.

Stay calm and carry on. And I will continue to enjoy their antics as we watch them drown in their own failure.
