"The Kids Aren’t All Right."

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." -- Proverbs 22:6, King James Version
Liberal Parents, Radical Children.

"The fact that so many institutions of higher learning are nearly devoid of ideological diversity, as typified by campus speech codes that silence dissent, is no accident. It is the very model of today’s liberalism to pay lip service to open-mindedness and independent inquiry—only so long as the outcomes are within the defined boundaries of acceptable opinion."

And therein lies the problem. I was raised by parents that knew what work was, they were born before the depression so as children and young adults, knew what hardship was. They fled the south in the late 40's with a lot of other southerners to chase the dream. Dad went to Flint Michigan and secured a very good job at the Buick foundry as a millwright.

In 58, right after my little sister was born, we moved to a small farm in Byron, a small town about 30 miles SW from Flint. That's where we were raised. As soon as I was old enough, I was doing chores. We were raised by firm parents. We were never abused, but if we needed a ass woopin, we got it. I went into the Marines right out of high school. After I was discharged I had job after job (usually for the better) until the time I had to retire.

My parents instill a work ethic in us that has seemed to have disappeared. It seems like every kid fresh out of college thinks they are entitled to a corner office and 100,000 a year. Sorry kid, it doesn't work that way.

All these liberal's that don't believe in disciplining their children should be proud. No I see some of the rudest and dumbest people I've ever run across. It shows in their attitude not only when you have to interact with them, it shows in the way they drive. Poor little snowflakes can't be away from their smart phones for more than a couple of minutes without going into withdrawal. I've got a 21 year old grand son that lives with us that is one of the most useless human beings I have ever seen. No job, wants to stay up all night playing video games and sleep all day. Sometimes I weep for what this country has become.

Sickness begets sickness, a diseased mindset cannot teach health.

If one hasn't learned life's lessons, one hasn't lived life.

As an old fart, I have seen countless millenials, like the ones Mr. Fowler describes.

I have also seen a few others, that denied the job of their "birthright", have gone to work in retail, fast food, cleaning, and similar fields, earning something for their upkeep, until the right opportunity comes along. My hope for the future rests with them (even though I must fix their malfunctioning computers).
