The relationship between the Turks and their Kurdish minority in Turkey is not unlike that of the Brits and their Irish subjects during the Potato Famine. Arguments back and forth since the 1840's are inconclusive about whether or not Britain's failure to address the Irish people's plight constituted genocide. The fact remains that many Brits in and out of the government felt that the fewer Irish the better.
Don't look for the Turks to help the Kurds, in or out of Turkey proper.
