Oh, my. What goes around, comes around.

Threats to CT Police Escalate Following CT Cop’s Gun Confiscation Comments – Cops Ask Pro-Gun Veteran to Help Cool Things Down.

For a moment, imagine yourself in a car speeding toward a cliff. You have options. You can avoid the cliff by applying the brakes or turning left or right. Or you could decide to hit the throttle and end it all while giving it one last rebel yell. But, depending on your speed and how long you wait, you would eventually find yourself in the position where nothing you do will prevent you from going over.

We are speeding towards a cliff. Can we still avoid going over? Or have we waited too long?

Have the police permanently lost the good will of the community?

Will our governments ever be "of the people, by the people, and for the people" again?

I suspect that's the end of gun confiscation in CT. They've whacked the hornet's nest and the hornets are madder 'n Hell, but haven't flown yet. Most people have the sense to back off when that happens.

Or maybe not. It might take a couple of dead cops to really make them back down. I've got my popcorn ready for watching the show...

It is only because of the threats of retaliation that the pigs have started to squeal. Calmer heads on one side doesn’t necessarily lead to calmer heads on the other. As others have stated, he should be prepared to give much more than “his left nut”.

THEY are the ones afraid for a change? Sometimes walking in another's shoes can be downright UNcomfortable. Reckon this sort of situation was what Jefferson was thinking about when he wrote, "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."?

Here are a couple more quotes from Jefferson that seem somehow apropo
of this situation,
"What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?"

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all."

It is interesting that the Freedom Outpost states that "Threats of violence are not the way to go about things" when it was precisely those threats that has got the attention of the Branford Police Chief and indeed the entire Branford Police Department, and very likely every police agency in the state of Connecticut.

Every "law enforcement" officer in this country had better heed this warning. American gun owners will not sit idly by while their neighbors are attacked by Nazi SWAT teams. There will be retaliation in such a senario.

Make no mistake: We have been threatened, and that threat has now been answered, and apparently understood by the Connecticut police.

Any unconstitutional act by "law enforcement" will be answered, and it will be answered quickly and decisively.

Count on it.

A televised apology? Constitution Training? Promises of no confiscation attempts? Seriously??

...ppffffttttt HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

While I appreciate the efforts of this John Cinque person, does he really think this means diddly squat?

They aren't THREATS when they are promises of REACTION. remember now, ummm as we are doing quotes .....

THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD.

These Connecticut police should bear in mind one thing. That while they're stacked up on someone's front porch waiting to break down the door, it's a whole other story when you have to worry about the doors behind you and on both sides too.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

I am inspired by the determination of the patriotic defenders of the Second Amendment in Connecticut to uphold the essential basis of our national sovereignty, the right and duty of the people themselves to hold the government accountable, either through political activity or direct exercise of their natural rights.

I do not, however, live in or convenient to Connecticut and therefore wonder if there is any effort to organize a larger national movement to assert, in unambiguous terms, our determination as a people to preserve the liberty on which America was founded.

I am currently writing a Reaffirmation of Independence, which is both an effort to frame the current situation in terms of our founding legal document, thus inviting comparison of modern day patriots with the founding generation and their legacy of freedom. The current draft can be found at:

Comments and constructive feedback are welcome, as is any information on a national campaign to reaffirm our total commitment to the historic foundation of American law.

My wife reminded me that the people of Connecticut voted in the lawmakers that betrayed them. Why isn't a recall petition circulating through the state right now? If there is not, the saps are getting what they deserve. This would NEVER happen in Texas.

Remember when Comrade Carl said that the all powerful govt would easily destroy the citizens in any sort of violent attack?

Yet mere comments online and over the phone from gun related forums and blogs are apparently "scaring the hell" out of a police dept and forcing round the clock protection for the cop who repeated what Comrade Carl posted in his Marxist blog.

The two don't compute: how is the all powerful police force scared to death of mere Internet speech? If speech is scaring them this bad, then what about if 4GW were actually being implemented and they were the targets? Examples like this and Chris Dorner show how important the psychology behind war is - and how most who are comfortable being the hammer crumple as soon as its time to be the nail.

I think a simple letter of apology and a policy clarification should be enough. The letter should read something like this:

"The views that Officer Peterson put forth do not represent the policy of the Bradford Police Department. Officer Peterson has been removed from his position and his Law Enforcement Credentials revoked. The Bradford Police Department apologizes to the Citizens of Bradford and the State of Connecticut for this officers misdeeds.

The Bradford Police Department also acknowledges that a Citizen may use justifiable force in defending themselves from egregious attacks, regardless of from whom the attack originates. Any person defending themselves or their family in such a manner will not be charged or prosecuted by this agency."

Anything less is just lip service.

There is no recall referendum in Ct. If there were, it would have been started a long time ago.

Right on target, Anonymous. The people need to take heart, and stop fearing so much.

Except police do not charge or prosecute.
That would be the states attorneys.

Dang, maybe those down ballot races actually DO matter.....

Does this type of behavior remind anyone of the gorillas in the Planet of the Apes? Same mentality.

I know in general that Connecticut cops aren't the brightest -- recall that New London rejected an applicant for having too high of an IQ -- but any idiot ought to know this:

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

NONE of the "thin blue line" has even pretended to distance themselves from his comments. The mob mentality is strong in the police forces nation wide.
