Somebody defaces ATF sign at SHOT Show. CPT Ramsey A. Bear denies responsibility.

David Codrea passes on the image above with the comment: "Now THAT's Funny!" Suspicion immediately was focused on Ramsey A. Bear, who has been known to frequent previous SHOT Shows. In response to my request for a statement, CPT Bear states, "I deny any involvement in the incident. I not only know how to correctly spell molṑn labé but I was having coffee at the time with CPT Tuttle, MAJ Murdock and COL Robert "Mad Bob" REDACTED of Alabama's own Dogtown Rangers Militia so my alibi is solid. As for who the perpetrator might be, my suspicion would be that it was one of those 'reverse hate crime' things. From the ignorance of the misspelling, I would guess it was probably engineered by James P. 'Little Jimmy' Vann."

The ATF will appear at a gunshow around here now and then. I guess they are either trying to improve their image by their presence or guage the overall hositility toward the agency by the local citizenry. Either way, it'll take a lot of PR to convince me that the ATF is anything but my enemy.

2500 years later, the attitude and words of King Leonidas still ring true and directly to the point.

Molon Labe!

Except this time, the 'would be aggressors' at ATF are outnumbered.

I've never been to the SHOT show, although I'd read about it in different gun magazines. What I've never understood is why the ATF would have a booth there? What possible explanation could they offer for even wanting to set up in venue, where they are nearly universally despised? It would be like me wanting to setup our militia recruitment booth, outside the offices of the SPLC. Anyone know?

This is funny. Maybe it was G. Gordon Liddy. He hates the ATF with passion.

HAHAHAH! I have a rock solid alibi but whomever did it? Kudos.

It appears they decided to handle this in house as opposed to calling in the Fibbies SRT (Sticker Removal Team) and having the whole damn SHOT Show burned down.

Swift, the ATF sets up at places like that to answer questions. They set up at one of the local shows here and I had a good conversation with Bruce the agent. He didn't have the answer to my question so he sent me the book of laws that all dealers get. It was A updated version of the one I had before.

To get into the shot show, you must be in the industry. I hope to go next year. I hold 2 FFL's and I'm a member of the NSSF.

Are you sure that Al Gore wasn't there? That's how he likes to spell "melon"...

Robert Fowler, thank you for the informative response. I'm not in the industry, so I'll never get there. The ATF there, must be a far cry from the thugs around here and the ones I observed in action at Knob Creek. Pathetic!

Swift, I think here in Des Moines, the office only has 2 or 3 agents. Agent Bruce was the agent that paid me a visit when I first got my FFL. He's always been one of the good guys.

Become a member of the press, They are starting to allow gun related bloggers access. Hell, I'll read it.

Lol this should be done every possible chance, get it to the point that even when they take the sign out of its package, that Molon Labe is already on the sign
