Veterans groups move to end shutdown

On Sunday, a grass-roots-organized Million Vet March is scheduled for the memorial. But it was unclear on Saturday just how many veterans might participate.

Rustygunner said...: I'm at the memorial now. The turnout isn't bad for a rainy Sunday morning. Oathkeepers are here, and plenty of flags I don't recognize. People still coming in.

The Barrycades are down, and there's no police tape or signs to be seen. Sorry, Mike, can't gather trophies here.; October 13, 2013 at 7:54 AM
Historian said...: I was there later in the AM, and there were a LOT of biker vets and Oathkeepers, and they not only took out the BarryCades, but kept the cops from blocking the honor flight WW2 vets from coming on site. Veterans organizations and Oathkeepers truly did honor their oaths today.; October 13, 2013 at 9:00 PM

This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can't be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won't be done. The Founders' Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.

But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.
