More quislings and appeasers.

Gun industry leaders, allies defy NRA on checks
Some of the gun lobby's strongest allies are breaking with the National Rifle Association to support proposals that would expand background checks for private firearm sales.
In behind-the-scenes talks with congressional staff members and others, gun makers, dealers and other Second Amendment advocates have offered support for more instant criminal background checks, buoying the hopes of gun control advocates, including President Barack Obama, who put a top priority on extending criminal checks to private sales.
The trade group for the nation's leading firearm manufacturers said it will not actively oppose the expansion of background checks, which are designed to prevent guns from reaching criminals or the seriously mentally ill.
"That's more the NRA's issue," Steve Sanetti, president of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), said in an interview. "From the commercial side, we're already there, and we've been there, and we were the ones that have been the strongest proponents of an effective, complete background check."

Like the Jews thought (at one time), if we give in on this they will leave us alone. Rinse, repeat. It didn't work then and it won't work now. Grab your balls and pick up a sword.

Sounds like it's time to boycott NSSF.

A few things the boys at NSSF need to keep in mind:

1. It wasn't the NRA or other "pro-gun" groups that punished Smith & Wesson. The punishment was dished out by Smith & Wesson's former potential customers.

2. However many firearms you sell to big city police departments, you sell many more to average American gun owners, or at least you do today. Ask the former owners of Smith & Wesson how fast that can change.

3. Even though the brand has changed hands, I do not care. There will never be a Smith & Wesson product in my house. Your mistakes can not only destroy your profits, and your company, they can destroy the value of your brand. We have very long memories.

4. You crawl in bed with the enemies of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms at your company's peril.

5. On the other hand, people who stand with us against our enemies, like Barrett and Magpul among others, are rewarded with our loyalty and financial support.

I fully support common sense, comprehensive background checks.

For presidential candidates.

Otherwise, NO.

It is interesting to note the HQ of NSSF - Newtown, CT

We need to contact NSSF and raise hell!

The only people that should not have firearms are those in prison, in a mental institution and non-citizens.

There may be some argument for people on SSRI drugs but under NO circumstance should anyone have a life time ban for a health problem!

I have a question how did we survive as a nation for 150 years without all of this gun control.

Until we had gun control we didn’t have a revolving criminal class.

Has a child we didn’t even lock our doors, WHAT HAPPENED!

Just because these clowns happen to agree (wrongly) w/ the gun grabbers, does NOT mean they speak for me, or any other gun owners.

NSSF says it has not broken from NRA at all: http://www.nssfblog.com/be-wary-of-media-reports-we-all-agree-lets-fix-nics/. Their blog says fix NICS, but don't extend checks beyond retail sales. I think the SGV Tribune article is an attempt to drive wedges amongst us.

So who else besides the NSSF are in bed in this menage a trois with the "I am not a dictator" and his czars?

Speaking of S&W..

I stopped in at one of the the local cop shops on lunch to look around.. on pulling in the owner and his helpers were in the process of unloading 79 (his comment) NIB “AR’s” from the back of a pickup. They were individual boxes and from the size M4 config. The boxes were white with black printing and the logo reminded me of Springfield Armory’s crossed cannons but I didn’t get to see the entire thing so I don’t know for sure.. interesting thing was they were stacked in the back of an open pickup so the wholesaler must be close by.. maybe in ******.. I don’t think SA makes AR’s or M4’s ??

This is it.. S&W MP15, it wasn’t crossed cannons it was the W

I immediately asked if they were AR’s and how much, naturally. He said yeas but they were already paid for and that those 79 plus the 300 he has on back order are strictly for “Law Enforcement Only” and not available for public sale..

Think about this for a minute.. 79 + 300 + ?? sold so far all private sales to area LEO’s.. why are LEO’s arming themselves in such quantities ? What do they know that we don’t ? Where is the stocking wholesaler in the area and is he selling to other gunshops ? Since its been ID’d as S&W then it might be safe to assume that they may be shipping firearms around the country only for LE sales.. not much of a jump these days..

I think it may be time to start loading more stripper clips.. If you don’t have your shit by now I don’t think you’re going to get it and I think time is running out faster than previously assumed.

Just as in the first War of Northern Aggression, many will needlessly die.
There is no middle ground to the Bill of Rights.
Only I can agree to limit my rights and I do not agree.
I do not know who or how the deadly part of this starts, but in 1969 I swore to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution...the rules we are to live by. The Marxist cabal in power despises the Constitution and my job is to dispatch them from the Republic...with extreme prejudice.
We have done and continue to populate our target lists and develop stratagies and tactics to accomplish our missions.
Restore the Constitution as the true founding document of the Republic.
Eliminate anyone who says it's a "living document".
Eliminate any pol who swore the oath and then proposed a law to limit or eliminate a basic human right.
Always survive to fight another day.

Yank III, I work part time at a local purveyor of tyranny defense tools. S&W is still shipping M&P 15s for civilian sale. S&W mostly deals with distributors but does do some direct sales for .gov POs. Currently, most of the distributors we deal with have ARs on allocation which means we can only get a couple at a time. Considering the high number of rifles arriving at one time, odds are that the dealer in question was acting as a facilitator for a LE purchase order.

@Yank111, I think you may be on to something. If there is a nationwide movement to arm LEO's first, then time is shorter than previously thought. But, judging from personal observation, the LEO's will take a lot longer than most, to become proficient with their new toys. Many cannot even master handgunning, let alone a carbine. Other than a few individual LEO's, they do not spend enough time at the range. Confronted with a mechanical malfunction, jam, or some other element of Murphy's Law, they suffer a serious brain fart. Still, your report is bad news. Good on you for the report.

I've heard of breaking with NRA because they are compromising weenies, but this is the first I've heard of because they are too hard core.

What a bunch of bootlickers.
