Sure seems to be an awful lot of "mistakes" coming from this agency over and over again. Maybe the "GOP anarchists" as the Obama Post would call them, should finally get around to passing the Ron Paul bill that would have repealed the ATF that he repeatedly introduced.
All the ATF seems to be doing is just handing over real assault rifles to criminals in MX and street gangs in America, so it is time for them to get their funding cut off.
A whole report based on the thinnest of ATF generalities. Not one specific detail; indeed, just a rehash of "known knowns". The ATF will take it's que from Holder, the master of stonewalling, and this too will pass. When an agency considers itself to be above the law and the upper hierarchy is corrupt beyond repair, the outcome is too predictable. If history repeats, watch for the ATF to come up with some Really Big operation to try and redeem themselves. Waco immediately comes to mind.

Absolutely true. Unfortunately, you can't "redeem" that which is irredeemable.

Part of the story was missing. I didn't see any mention of punishment of the innocent or promotion of those in charge. Aren't those both ATF SOP?

If the government violates a citizen's rights its a 'mistake'.
If a citizen violates the governments rights its a 'felony'.
No accountability. Lethal unaccountabiltiy.
...and the men who work for ATF are proud of them selves and of the Agency.
'Nuff said?
