"1.6 Billion Rounds Of Ammo For Homeland Security? It's Time For A National Conversation."

From FORBES, fer cryin' out loud.
Why, indeed, should the federal government not be deploying armored personnel carriers and stockpiling enough ammo for a 20-year war in the homeland? Because it’s wrong in every way. President Obama has an opportunity, now, to live up to some of his rhetoric by helping the federal government set a noble example in a matter very close to his heart (and that of his Progressive base), one not inimical to the Bill of Rights: gun control. The federal government can (for a nice change) begin practicing what it preaches by controlling itself.

The rounds are for target practice...

They plan to shoot that pistol ammo at the armored cars...

They're from the government. They're here to help.

It makes sense that Forbes would start to notice this stuff. The economy is bad and an all out civil war would be really bad for profits especially when the hard left goes commie on their buddies during the fracas.

This practice will be abused and go unchallenged. Why? Because when someone does fight back and gets gunned down, the "authorities" will simply say: "You see - we told you the guy was crazy."
The media will then shroud the event with the fog of steaming bullshit, while the ignorant masses shrug and continue grazing.

Controlling itself. Right. Hardee har har har. ummmm, that's like asking a person with epilepsy to control them self during a seizure . Ha! If anything, now that they've made it perfectly clear they have and intend to use drones on whoever they deem fit, American or not, which all the alleged "legal underpinnings" are fucking secret..I do believe these fucks will double down. Yesireeebob. Control themself. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
geezus. I need to recalibrate the redline on the Side Splitting Laughter Meter.

Aside from the obvious implications of preparing for Civil War what if they took a lesson from Reagan and just issued orders to tie up manufacturers production lines from loading civilian ammo for commercial sale ?

What if..

I think its past time citizens started confronting the Ammunition Industry for some answers and make some demands.

In a nation that supplied the world's ammo, even while taking into consideration the cut backs, I refuse to believe that American ammo mfg's cant keep up with the demand..
What if the intent is to help put gunshops out of business for lack of supply's ?
They need to stop supplying a Criminal Regime and start helping to arm the populace before they become labeled as part of that regime.. and fast.

What market sector is more profitable?
a) Supplying the government sector (including military) exclusively.
b) Supplying the non-government sector exclusively.
c) Supplying both sectors.

When you are a supplier and you only have one customer, you are at the mercy of that customer (hello, financially ruined former WalMart suppliers). It can be difficult for you when that customer no longer buys from you. When you are a customer and you only have one supplier and there are no other alternate suppliers readily available, you are at the mercy of that supplier.

Has the government really monopolized all the suppliers, or have many people that would occasionally buy a box or two of ammunition suddenly realize that they need to buy a case or ten, right now?

Take note - in the bloomerg article linked above, they quote our dear friend Garen Wintemute. Maybe he had a lot more to do with this than just setting up some 'research program'?
