David Warren on the Norway massacre and "A Post-Modern Pact With the Devil." But, another country heard from: "Christian Jihad."

The Devil and Dr. Faustus.

"No one believes in the devil any more. Yet his smell is everywhere." -- Baudelaire

"By their fruits ye shall know them."

However, here we have another country heard from. Francis Schaeffer's apostate son postulates: Christian Jihad? Why We Should Worry About Right-Wing Terror Attacks Like Norway's in the US.

Compare and contrast, "The Norwegian police on Saturday charged a 32-year-old man, whom they identified as a Christian fundamentalist with right-wing connections, over the bombing of a government center,.." (% etc.) with: "I am a supporter of an indirect collective conversion of the Protestant church back to the Catholic.--Anders Behring Breivik

Where is the connection between ABB and fundamentalism?!

Politically, Anders Behring Breivik seems to have much in common with Branch Davidian religious sect leader David Koresh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Koresh) and Jan van Leyden, leader of the Munsterite rebellion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BCnster_Rebellion).

Interestingly, Koresh and van Leyden were "born of fronication" while AAB had daddy leave home at an early age. It is common for boys who grew up without sufficient paternal influence to exhibit anti-authoritarian tendancies as an adult. This occurs independent of other factors, such as religious affiliation.

Franky Schaeffer's thesis--that men like his father, Francis Schaeffer--helped to spawn a monster in America's womb is the stuff of tabloid journalism.

When you follow the mooslem rulebook on hate and murder it makes you a mooslem, not a Christian. Someone who is invited to be a Boy Scout but refuses to live by the rulebook is not a Boy Scout. The antiChrist fingerpointers waited a long time to find a non-Christian Christian to point at. If they weren't antiChrist but merely accusers like their father the devil, they would have to look no further than the nearest mooslem. but they don't because they have an even more evil agenda. Go to Hell mooslem loving Christhating reprobate.

ps Christians worldwide condemn such acts of violence in the name of God, while mooslems cheer it in the name of Satan.

I am ashamed the Frank Schaeffer calls himself a member of the Orthodox Church.

By the way MVB-- I hope your calling Schaeffer "apostate" stems from his personal views, and not from his no longer being a Protestant.

it should be noted that the bottom article was written on "alternet" which is one of the crappiest "counterculture" left wing websites in the history of the net........hell, it makes the huffington post look like townhall.com

That was the most hateful and obvious piece of left-wing propaganda I have ever read. Hopefully we can use it to help expose the sheep to what the left really thinks of us. Wake a few up if we are lucky.

Bad as it ticked me off, thanks for pointing out this article, Mike.

I wonder if Schaeffer, Jr. takes drugs. If I cold find out what drugs he takes, I'd make sure to stay away from them.

I read his article on Alternet and found myself wanting to correct some factual errors I found, but there are so many it would become a life's work.

Then I read the comments. Hooie, baby, there are some nutcases out there, and they think we're nuts.

It's going to be real fun soon, isn't it?

1. a person who forsakes his religion, cause, party, etc.

Protestant, schmotestant, I was thinking more of the morality of liberty versus collectivism as a whole.

I mean, I may call Bob Wright a "Papist" and he might call me "Cromwellian," but we're on the same side, in the same foxhole.

The same goes for agnostics or even atheists that share my fidelity to the natural rights given to us all by God, even if they DON'T believe in Him.

Among the author's factual inaccuracies and poorly disguised disgust for all things non-collectivist, he conveniently left out the background about Joseph Stack being quite leftish in his political convictions, and that Mr. Stack was only upset that his life was ruined in his attempt to resist Leviathan by not paying taxes (duh - what did he expect?).

Ah, there's little Franky Schaeffer again, plugging one of his books in a new article. What a surprise.

I am intimately familiar with the works of Francis Schaffer, the father of this far lesser light. That being the case, I became familiar with the books and (alas) sojourn of son Franky, who glommed on to his father's reputation in order to establish his own. After doing that, he wrote a series of interminable reads that have, among other things: 1) trashed Evangelical Christianity; 2) trashed his father, mother and siblings, mainly for being Evangelical Christians; 3) trashed conventional Christian sexual morality; and 4) trashed conservatism in all its forms. He has alienated everyone with whom he has come into contact, except the liberal-lefties, who have provided him a home and platform (e.g., HuffPuffPo) from which to keep on trashing these things (and of course sell more books in the process). When he was an Evangelical, he alienated many Evangelicals. When he converted to Eastern Orthodoxy, he alienated many of them. (I speak largely from personal experience, as I have been both Evangelical and Orthodox, and have spoken to "heavyweights" in both camps about Franky.) Now he works to alienate everyone to the right of Jimmy Carter. He's a would-be literary gadfly trying to model himself after the likes of Chesterton, but all he is, really, is a lefty punk and a mediocre writer. And so only lefty punks listen to him anymore, which is the reason he writes mainly at the lefty punk site HuffPuffPo these days.

I liked your description of him as the "Francis Schaeffer's apostate son". For an "apostate" is what he most certainly is, his "Orthodoxy" (which figures less and less into his writing these days)notwithstanding. Leftism is an anti-Christian religion and so Franky, having become a leftist, is an anti-Christian. The Orthodox Church should either discipline him or toss him out on his ear before he does more damage to that institution.
