Now THIS ought to go over real well. . . Red dawn over Boise.

"Wolverines!"

The Chinese dragon seeks territory in Spudland. I was listening to NPR the other day to how COSCO is suborning Greek politicians and breaking all their labor laws in the running of port facilities in Piraeus, I think it was. Oh, yeah, I can see this going over real well in Idaho.

It may not go over well with the hoi polloi, but that matters little.

Listen, the Lt. Governor is perfectly willing to sell Idaho to the Chinese ("That's where the money is"), and you can be sure that there are plenty of more politicians lining up to get their palms greased. With the economic times now, and to come, do you really think politicians of any stripe will turn down good-paying jobs just because it entails colonization of your state by a foreign power? Nope, not even Idaho...

Expect much more of this. The Chinese hold the dollars, and they have gone on a shopping spree. They've effectively bought the Panama Canal; they've purchased farmland and mines in Africa, farmland and utilities in South America; factories all over Asia; and, now, they will start getting footholds all over the U.S.A.

And WE will be subsidizing our own colonization via the interest payments on the debt accumulated by our "representatives", a good chunk of which is held by foreign sovereign powers.

Down the hatch, boys! What Africa was to Europe in the 19th Century, America will be to China in the 21st.

BTW: the plot of the Red Dawn remake, with the Chinese in the role of the bad guys, looks less like artistic license and more like a vision of our future, eh?

"Credit" is never free.

And now you know the rest of the story.

There must be something secret going on @ Mountain Home AFB they want to keep an eye on? (Anyone who has dealt with Chinese manufacturer's know they don't ship by air (unless its critical), they use shipping cargo container's). Being so far from a seaport raises many red flags (figuratively), one just needs to look at a map showing the distribution of bulk product manufacturer's inside China, and they will see most are near seaports. IMO.

Where the Chicoms want to put theire 'site' is within easy distance of the Boise "International" Airport which is also adjacent to Gowen Field (ANG).

Really convenient.

Not much to taking an airfield these days....

Mountain Home is 50 some miles away....also within striking...err...driving distance....right down I-84.

I wrote a friend of mine and asked him in my best "Gunnery Sergeant Hartman" text, "Why are there not 1,000 Idaho boys stomping the shit out of this plan?"

His answer: They hadn't heard of it much at home in Boise....but the word is spreading now.

And the earlier poster is right: The Lt Governor would sell Idaho's virginity if it meant a few more dollars and favor with the feds....Idaho's legislature is all about federal subservience....

Rumors in Greece say that Chinese businesses over there have their rent paid for by the PRC. Is this true?

The Chinese aren't interested in ANY sort of military option against the US. They know there's no winning that. What they've been doing for a long time now is classic Sun Tzu. Defeat the enemy without fighting him.

The Chinese will settle in where they feel safe to settle in.

And not where they're not safe.

I don't think I need say more.
