Interesting. I believe that's the first time I've seen someone reference your stark warning (or others from diverse writers over the years) without an expression of horror. Signs of stiffening spines, maybe?

AT LAST!!!! Someone else is trying to get the word out that we are but a single heartbeat away from losing ALL of our freedoms.

I have been saying for months that should any of the conservative Associate Justices (or, in point of fact, the Chief Justice himself) die or leave office, Obama would be able to appoint a new Justice who's ideology would be more in line with his. That would - potentially, at least - spell the end of liberty. There would be nothing to stop a complete makeover of our society into one without any fundamental liberties.

Nothing to stop it at all. All folks like us could do then would be to fight a war to reboot the republic. The choice would be between a Soviet-style system (with no U.S. out there to defeat it in any sort of war) and essentially tearing the republic down and rebuilding it from the foundation (the Constitution) up.

Frankly it is a tribute to just how small minded and short sighted the people in power are that this has not already happened. I have no doubt that Tricky Dick would have hesitated. FDR tried to do it in a different manner.

Heaven help us if the administration tumbles to this simple solution to their problem.

I really would like to believe that all gun people felt the same way, but unfortunately I don't.

I can assure you that if laws were passed requiring us to turn in our weapons, there are more than a few that would do so.

Laws trump rights for a good number of people it seems.

Just remember that, when the time comes that they decide to TAKE your firearms, it will NOT be Obama or Schumer or Brady or Clinton or Napolitano or Holder that will do so. Instead, it will be your fine friends in "Law Enforcement". But of course they will be too honorable to do something like that to you...

Do you think that the silly asshats got the message?
Better yet, do you think they'll test our metal?
I sure hope so...

I really don't give a damn what happens on that bunch of dumb asses that sit on the Supreme Court. They are not going to decide a damn thing about the 2nd Amendment and my other rights under the "Bill of Rights". The founders made it very plain what they meant and no matter how brilliant and wonderful our "betters" think they are it won't matter a wit to me.

You really don't? That is sad. Because, love 'em or hate 'em, agree with 'em or disagree with 'em, those four men are all that is currently standing between you and a complete abnegation of ALL our fundamental liberties. With the replacement of even one of those four men by a "progressive", the statists would be free to do anything they wanted. They could pass any legislation they wanted; secure in the knowledge that it would not be struck down. The executive branch could enact and enforce any regulation/executive order it chose knowing that no court challenge could possibly succeed.

Do you REALLY want that? Because that, my friend, is an absolutely perfect recipe for civil war. Do you DESIRE a civil war? I don't. I expect one but I sure as FRACK don't desire it.

I ask you - and any who believe as you do - to meditate upon the likely consequences of such a belief. I am preparing for civil war and the lawless period that would ensue but I would not be upset if it never came. Would you? Be upset if civil war never came, I mean?
