In accordance with ATF O 1100.168, ASAC George Gillett is designated as the acting SAC for the period of 4/11/11 – 4/15/11. He can be reached at (602) 776-XXXX, or on his cell phone (602) 653-XXXX.
One second, one minute or one day with George Gillett in charge of anything at ATF should refocus everyone on how skewed the logic and reasoning of ATF management is. Irregardless of the battle damage Gillett has put on ATF and our people, this is the guy who only weeks ago retaliated against a whistleblower and was called out by Congress for it. So much for Melson stating that he will not tolerate retaliation on his watch.
The saying here rings more true every day, "ATF can't even do the wrong thing right." Well done Melson, Hoover, Chait, McMahon. You guys are surely the chosen ones to lead us out of our darkest days (that's sarcasm for those who could somehow think it is anything but).
HQ is standing by Newell going to Mexico as the Attache'!
Here are three simple reasons why that can't happen but in ATF's upside down world of decision making it probably will:
1.He has lost all ability to be credible or affective in that role.
2.He will be arrested if he sets foot in Mexico.
3.He may be harmed if he sets foot in Mexico and above all else Newell has serious safety issues if his presence in Mexico becomes known.
