Project Gunwalker and "The Banality of Evil": Fireman Friendly's secret life as a killer arsonist. The bureaucratic murderers with clean hands.

'If you're going to make an omelette, you've got to break some eggs.' -- ATF manager to Special Agent John Dodson, when he objected to letting guns "walk" in "Fast and Furious."

Georgia Firefighter Marvin Calvin Chase, arrested for more than 30 arsons at $22 per paycheck. He could have had a great career in the ATF as a supervisor with Fast and Furious. The moral logic, at least, is the same.

Banality of evil is a phrase coined by Hannah Arendt and incorporated in the title of her 1963 work Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil. It describes the thesis that the great evils in history generally, and the Holocaust in particular, were not executed by fanatics or sociopaths, but rather by ordinary people who accepted the premises of their state and therefore participated with the view that their actions were normal. -- Wikipedia.

The Christian Science Monitor writes in an article entitled "Mexico lawmakers livid over US 'Operation Fast and Furious'":

How 'Fast and Furious' backfired

A Phoenix-based operation, Fast and Furious backfired when two of the weapons in the program were found at the scene of a border shootout that killed US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in December. ATF whistleblowers and some US congressmen kicked up a fuss over a program they feared would aid cartels in killing innocent people. And last month, a gun smuggled from the US was used in the killing of US Special Agent Jamie Zapata outside Mexico City, although it has not been determined that the gun was part of Fast and Furious.

As a result, last week the ATF announced a review of its firearms trafficking strategies.

Backfired?

Backfired?!?

Bull.

Remember one thing -- apart from the fact that it was compromised by the ATF whistleblowers, "FAST AND FURIOUS" WORKED AS INTENDED. Hell, they're still trying to make it work, even now when the whole thing has been exposed as Fireman Friendly's secret life as a killer arsonist.

As explained by my experienced friend here, it was a cynical, bloody-minded attempt to subvert the Second Amendment, executed flawlessly with depraved indifference to the human cost by its architects -- the bureaucratic murderers with clean hands of the ATF and Department of Justice.

And who are these killers for power? Who are these people that representatives of the Mexican government now rightfully wish to extradite for trial on charges of gun smuggling and accessory to murder?

We don't know for sure, yet. Not all of them. But we are starting to get an idea or two.

Here's the latest representative of what Hannah Arendt called "the banality of evil" on the ground in Arizona:

William "Gunwalker Bill" Newell, ATF SAC in charge of the Phoenix office, now wanted by the government of Mexico.

Here's his boss, Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson. There were those who used to think that he was the "honest piano player in the whorehouse," a tool of the string-pullers in the Chief Counsel's Office. Turns out he was just as guilty of depraved indifference to multiple murder in Mexico as all the rest of them.

Here's Melson's boss, Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, and Breuer's boss, Attorney General Eric Holder.

All of these people crafted, executed or approved the "Fast and Furious" conspiracy and subsequent cover-up.

Now you know what bureaucratic murderers with clean hands look like.

The banality of evil, indeed.

Agree completely Mike ... backfired my ass, these gun grabbing thugs knew exactly what they were doing. I wonder how masterfully he can cover up his own mess. He did a great job with Janet Reno's Waco .. love to see him twisting n front of a oversight hearing under oath ... better yet, a trial in Mexico!!!

Wouldn't that just be a hoot!!

Mike,
I don't know how this reads to others, feel free to chop it down if you want, or to use any part of it. same goes for any readers, if you like it, help yourselves to it:

Wobbling scenery in a cheap B movie

We all learn and practice suspending our disbelief from a very early age.

We watch TV and Movies, listen to stories and read fiction, maybe go to the theatre if we’re close enough to a town.

With just the words of the writer and the motions of the actors in front of a painted set and minimal props we are taken away into an imaginary world. A world where polystyrene boulders, and a six inch long spaceship on a thread with a toy sparkler at the back of it, appear realistic.

The moment that set wobbles though, it reveals its true nature and the whole illusion is destroyed, we are whisked from our imaginary world, and back into our real and very ordinary surroundings.

I must have been a really annoying brat of a child.

I just loved to spot the scenery shaking, the Roman centurions with wrist watches, the aeroplane con-trails in the sky above the Vikings, all of the B movie flaws, and I’d shout about them until no one else could watch the film.

The scenery behind the gunwalker set is shakier than most.

The rudiments of a crappy B movie are there, if you’d just suspend disbelief, trouble is that the set just keeps wobbling:

The wobbliest scenery of the lot? Probably the BATFE staff in Mexico who couldn’t even speak Spanish.

Suspend disbelief, and the BATFE have staffed offices and agents in Mexico, “working with Mexican Law enforcement”. It would look good in the days when we only had the MSM. Those days are long gone.

Sure, the people exist, the offices exist, but they are just painted scenery and polystyrene boulders, they might look like the real thing until someone gives them a shake (as Mike, David and the whistleblowers have), and they wobble. They can’t even speak Spanish. They aren’t the real thing, they do not and can not work.

They are cheap props and scenery. That is all.

Now that We’ve seen one part of the set wobble, what else is there that is meant to give the illusion of reality, but isn’t real?

One other thing I learned early. Lots of folk don’t like having their suspense of disbelief interrupted.

They get upset, first at the brat who shouted about the wobbly scenery, then when the scenery wobbles again, they get angry in their disgust at the B movie, soap opera or whatever else it was.

Here’s where the politicians and MSM need to be careful:

If the set behind the oversight hearings and enquiries begins to wobble, if obvious questions aren’t asked, if easy questions are asked, and interviewees are helped to answer, if patsies are thrown under the bus but the real plotters are rewarded…

In short, if justice is not seen to be done before the eyes of a sceptical and observant audience (remember, the MSM doesn’t control the meme any more),

who knows what solid looking things people will start shaking next?

Think about Tunisia, Egypt, Libya etc…

When soldiers or sailors run amok and either participate or cover up mayhem overseas, they are crucified. Even if they are wrongly accused they are still publicly vilified and run through the wringer to avoid an appearance of a cover-up.

And these two (or more) cause or participate in potentially hundreds of deaths of Mexicans in addition to U.S. federal agents' deaths.

Where's the outrage?

Good on you Mike - you've got to spell it out!

No way in hell this happened without Holder's approval.

Also, no way in hell it happened without 'Da Hildabeest signing off on it as well.

Holder's "my people" comments show where HIS loyalties lie - the ongoing mutual racism of blacks and browns is common and almost banal as well -- no doubt Holder wouldn't care about "those people" -- just about the ones he considers "his people."

And Her Filthiness? Duh! She'd pull the triggers herself if she thought it might get her to the WH...

Dick's Dad:
GREAT metaphor, HOWEVER:
Sorry, but you overestimate the attention span of the average American.

Perfect example: last night, the females in my house happened to catch a snippet of news - in this case about the riots in WI. All 3 turned to me, to ask "what's that all about?"

I explain the inherent corruption -- the ongoing quid-pro-quo, incestual relationship between the Demmunist party and the "public-sector" unions. They're STUNNED!

"FINALLY!" I think - "I've got their attention!"

I go on to point out the TRILLION-DOLLAR "stimulus" -- which was no more than a gift to the unions.

"Obamacare"? First, it bailed out the b-b-billions of dollars the unions otherwise would have been forced to spend to meet their obligations to retirees - now offloaded onto the taxpayers.

I explain how this continues to worsen the financial-crisis as companies don't dare hire people because of the crushing expense of obamacare -- and how 900+ "waivers" have been given to those who support Demmunist-party candidates.

I point out how GM and Chrysler were given to the UAW - the very scumbags who drove both companies into bankruptcy, and how the bond-holders who should have been FIRST to be paid got screwed as well. Then there's the HUNDREDS of dealers forced out of business -- but not ONE who donated to the Demmunist party!

By this point their eyes were glazed over -- and seconds later I was literally told to "SHUT UP@!" as "their shows" were coming on.

These are all "conservative" women - all intelligent, well-educated or in the process of becoming that way - and neither of them could be bothered to care more about the utter and literal rape of their future when "their shows" are on.

God help us -- and God Save Our Republic!

Dedicated Dad,
I don't have a daughter.

My good lady is self described conservative and deeply despises socialists and socialist invaded unions, but...

I was trying to explain James O'Keefe's NPR sting to her, and added bits in about his ACORN and Planned Parenthood stings.

"Oh, but some people can speak in a way that's very easy to be taken out of context..."

Suddenly I was being unreasonable for not giving these poor, tricked people the benefit of the doubt.

We're not in the US, but I'm determined to chip away at the kind of memes which gunwalker springs from and in its turn cultivates.

If we can't re secure liberty in the US. I dread to think of the kind of world we'll leave to our kids.
