"I've noticed that the ATF has opened up a lot of announcements for supervisory positions in the past two months." No kidding? I wonder why?

A job seeker's question at FederalSoup.com:

Dpd2542 wrote on 18 February: "I've noticed that the ATF has opened up a lot of announcements for supervisory positions in the past two months. Does that mean that they are looking to possibly hire new agents this year?"

StefaniesDad answers: "Not sure.. but I understand that they (ATF) have had a lot of turn over of late.. A buddy of mine just got a supervisory LE (GS13) job with ATF.. Apply - you can always say no."

Dpd2542 responds with a question: "I take it that he was already a 1811 with the ATF before the promotion?"

StefaniesDad answers: "Nope - was a 0025 (GS11) (LE) with NPS (Marine Corps vet) and got selected.. good gig, huh??!!"

Dpd2542 is impressed: "Wow, that is a good gig."

Maxxxpower concurs: "Federal jobs are the best. Good benefits, good pay. You don't need to worry if the Federal Government will still be around years down the road like you would with a company."

Oh, really????

I sense a rude awakening in your near future, Maxxx...

And why is it, again, that "companies" are going out of business?

It wouldn't be .gov meddling, .gov taxes, union avarice and sloth both public and private would it? You know, all those bennies to which you feel soooo entitled?

When your golden para fails, the landing's gonna be...

Lethal.

Haha! Thanks for posting this. Funny and sad at the same time.

Love of money: it's ruined many a man.

olds 98... my uncle had one. Cool car!

I don't think it's actual MONEY (or love thereof) that's so much the problem as the love of the power and trappings of power that the unscrupulous accumulation of money can buy. The IDEA behind money: peaceable trading of value for value is great. The perversion of that idea by governments (fiat money, legal tender acts, devaluing "real" money, etc.) in order to gain control over folks' lives and to perpetuate themselves in power is NOT!!!

I think the main reason I'd apply for a position with the Gubbment (especially BAT-feces) is that if one wants to throw the monkey wrench, it's best done from the inside. . .
