AK47s vs. bean bags in border drug wars.
Newly-released court documents give details in the murder of AFT agent Brian Terry.
For the past few weeks, CBS News has been reporting on a controversial operation by the ATF that may have helped put lethal weapons in the hands of Mexican gangs. CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports some of those weapons have been implicated in the death of a U.S. Border patrol agent.
While ATF was allegedly allowing Mexican drug cartels to be armed with assault rifles from the U.S., a special Border Patrol team in Arizona was fighting, in part, with bean bag guns the night of Dec. 14, 2010.
David Hardy writing at Arms and the Law writes "Agents fired beanbags in fatal shootout with border robbers."
Whoever created that policy should be committed to an institution as a danger to others. The BP agents are being sent out to deal, not with cartel drugrunners, but with robbers who prey upon cartel drugrunners -- hard to envision a more dangerous group of criminals than that. They encounter them at night, I assume at very close range. And engage, under orders to shoot only nonlethal beanbags until the bad guys engage them with real ammunition.
And as Bob Wright pointed out to me, with the thermal imaging they had, the Border Patrol team had to have seen the outlines of the AKs approaching them. Hardy is right. Terry was not only killed by an ATF "walked" Kalashnikov but by an insane policy as well.
(I will post the link to the CBS video when they get it up.)

Rules of engagement should NEVER be written by someone who hasn't been shot at or engaged in direct
field operations as a foot soldier.

Unloaded M16s at the Beirut Embassy were useless too.
That's sorta like going out hunting for bear, finding one, creeping up and smacking it on the nose and not expecting it to kill you. -And it is common knowledge that bear claws are the size of human fingers with enough power behind them to decapite a human in one swipe...just like drug runners are likely armed. At least their 'guards' most certainly are.
Time to put a Ma Deuce every 2000yds backed up by Bradleys every mile and Abrams every 2-5 miles, with air cover to boot. AC-130's and A-10's for starters. Since we don't have that many Bradleys and Abrams available (we should), we'll just have to have roving fronts on hot spots. Shoot whatever crosses the border. Don't cry about 'innocents'. The message will get out to the 'community' across the border that they (that would be us) are really shooting to kill.
If you were continually getting kicked, punched and stabbed as the US is, what would you do? Sure as hell not cower in the current disgusting manner, but fight back to permanently stop the antagonist.
Enough is enough. Hey, FEDS, quit screwing around and do what needs doin'. If you don't, the States *will*. Maybe Texas can get the ball rolling by seceeding per original documents and kicking some cartel ass. I've got some relatives there that would be happy to oblige.
It is literally insane for us to expect this border situation to change when we continue with the same limp wristed, do nothing policies that have been in place for decades. Never mind the fact that we are putting our BP at an extreme disadvantage with assinine ROE.
God help us.

A genuinely excellent submit by you my friend. We have bookmarked this page and will occur back following several days to examine for any new posts that you simply make.
Talk about openly blatant hypocrisy! President Bozo just a few months ago was BLAMING gun manufacturers and dealers for ignoring what was going on down there just to sell them guns! If this was approved by the DOJ, then one must assume President “holy shit! we can’t arm our agents” Bozo knew of this. At the least the racist in charge of the DOJ should sure as hell be brought up on charges! sorry for the “french” but this one ticks me off as bad as the race baiter in the White House and his AG.
