Come to think of it, a tribe WOULD be pretty much all related. Everyone in the tribe would either be kith or kin. The result would be tribes (or villages) that would band together into clans and later into nations?

Question comes to me, if the G brings in foreigners to help, would'nt that be likely to INCREASE the percentage above the nominal 3%? Also, even though they would not likely be part of the 3%, would not the groups such as gangs (crips/bloods/hell's angels) activities siphon off troops to deal with THEM? Gotta figure THOSE tribes are going to be looking to survive.

I agree with the math, from a certain perspective. But there is an inherent multiplication of effectiveness within the ranks of the organized powers, with their hardware and logistics, training and experience, comms and mobility. The difference in numbers between both sides shrinks quite a bit. How does one quantify THAT? How does the larger side deal with its logistical inferiority, and lack of intel when the various internet and news switches are pulled?
While I think we must keep as optimistic as any situation allows, I fear that we may face much larger numbers against us if such a "situation" occurs. If there is a confrontation between us citizens and the .gov we can count on other "citizens" joining the dark side. The doctrine of the three percent even points out that "by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him" and I'm sure we can count on many doing the same next time around. Just think of all the people that would flock to him should Obama ask for help. They'd be able to go their looting behind the cover of a gun and a badge....
