The Feds go merrily prepping for something. . . And is the Bureau of Indian Affairs afraid of getting scalped?

All these normally non-armed agencies, wanting to purchase weapons that are restricted or denied to us, the "little people" (14.5" barrels).
Who do they think they are, "only ones"?
What do they know that we don't?
Our tax dollars at work . . .
Stand by, news at 11.

It seems that Obama took the massive surge in post-election gun sales a little too personally and now is beginning to ramp up his counterstrike.

Uh yea...

Everyone wants to be a commando.
Cowards hide behind the color of law."
Now gentlemen, let's consider the remote possibility that they are going on a hunting trip! You know, like Dick Cheney!
Thanks, I thought the rabbit hole was way deeper then 20mm rifles for the FBI, shotguns for the IRS and Dept. of Ed.
obamalama did promise a domestic security force just as heavily armed as the Army, did he not? He's just following through on his campaign promise.
All of that won't be enough, because of
this and millions more of us.
If they are planning on CQ skirmishes, house to house, whatever, they may be surprised to see that improvised Claymores can change the best laid plans in a heartbeat :o) And I seem to recall that battle-experienced Afghans, a while back, using old Enfield 303s, whipped the crap out of the best that the old Soveit Empire could field.
The nice civil service employees at all those agencies might want to bear in mind that there is a big difference in hanging out with Rambo at the range and jocking around in a black ninja costume, and in lying face down in wet grass or sand with your fanciest chest rig digging into your ribs while people you've pissed off are firing live ammo at your body parts with calm precision.
And is it odd that they insist on using the initials for Erectile Dysfunction?
Pretty damn sad.
But alas, I do not think they have enough ammo.

I remember reading about the IRS but I didn't know about the other "purchases" from the other agencies. Interesting.

I sent an Email to the contact at the bottom of the solicitation asking "Why does the Department of Education need 12 gauge shotguns?" Here is the email I received in response. (Great, Now I am on the DOE's law enforcement list!)

Thank you for your email to Holly Le. Ms. Lee forwarded your email to the Office of Inspector General for response. The Office of Inspector General is the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of Education and is responsible for the detection of waste, fraud, abuse, and other criminal activity involving Federal education funds, programs, and operations. As such, OIG operates with full statutory law enforcement authority, which includes conducting search warrants, making arrests, and carrying firearms. The acquisition of these firearms is necessary to replace older and mechanically malfunctioning firearms, and in compliance with Federal procurement requirements. For more information on OIG's law enforcement authority, please visit our Web site at: www.ed.gov/oig.
The information is available on the front page of our site.
Thank you again for your inquiry.

Oh Boy! I can't wait to get my hands on some of these weapons.
BTW, the Bureau of Customs & Border Protection should be added into the equation. They've formed, trained and armed their own SWAT teams already.
Just more toys for us to pick up after the battle.
7,62 x 1mm
is that one of JDJ's whisper rounds?
Battlefield pickups should keep the logistics in our favor.
Of course, the thing is we have to fight back. You know, not do that thing we did at Waco or Ruby Ridge. You know that thing, that thing where we just watched and were grateful it wasn't us under the massed guns. It does us no good to outnumber them my orders of magnitude if we continue to give them numerical tactical advantage at places and times of their choosing.
It is much easier to kill or imprison a million people one at a time, than it is to kill or imprison a million people, who resist, at one time.
We had better figure out pretty damn quick whether we mean it or not. I will not view it as a compliment to have it said of me, "Well he was certainly loud about not submitting, until we showed up". I would much prefer
they say, "That was one hard sonofabitch to kill, and he made us pay dearly to do it. Not sure we can afford many more like him."
We don't have a lot of time,people. The choice seems to be between "loud" or "serious".
end of the year purchase orders coming to light? or new purchases? i see some of these posted as early as last september.
leftovers in the budget always go to toys. they can afford it because they keep asking for more money, while keep spending less on the actual affairs of the public, whom are in the target market, whether they like it or not.
interesting choices, though.
Does this set warning bells ringing in anybody else's head?
Why do they all need this stuff now?
How long have they had "existing inventories" with which the new stuff needs to comply?
Is there any guarantee this stuff isn't going out the back door and straight to...? Happens in Mexico!
WTF does the dept of agriculture need silencers for?
I think 3-6 months, 1 yr tops,and we'll be seeing this stuff.
@Dan: The sooner the better...
Walter and atexan.... +1
...especially the suppressed DOEnergy stuff. Yummmm!
No one seemed to notice that Immigrations & Customs Enforcement has contracted for 200 MILLION rounds of .40 S&W to be delivered over the next five years. That works out to 3.3 million rounds PER MONTH!!!
Something tells me this ammo isn't going to help secure our borders... from outsiders breaking in.

Anyone remember that Obama said he would create a civilan force equal to the millitary? Well...you didn't think he ment civilans like the guy who works changing oil at jiffy lube...did you? Much more likely Obama wants teachers,park rangers, irs empolyees and other government workers who will be inclined to see this as job security.
re: ICE's 200MM rounds of .40 S&W
Total personnel '08 was 18,965, or 10,545 rounds for every member of their organization over a five year period. That's 175 rounds a month, or nine rounds a day.
Did they order Hoppe's by the barrel to keep all those weapons clean, or will they just pitch them aside when they get dirty?
Battlefield pickups indeed. Do you suppose they'll just drop the empty mags, or can I hope for some full ones? Are they issued Glocks, or are they using SIGs or Springfields or what?
Possible targets of/"reasons" for recent non-military govtl small arms purchase orders
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dept of Ed:
Home schoolers &/or those who refuse govt child vaccination edicts
I.R.S.:
Tax "violations" involving property/land seizures
Dept of Interior:
Dope growers/manufacturers either real/labeled as
"Eco-criminals"
"Extremist/terrorist groups", training camps/equipment stashes
Land seizures
Dept of Ag:
See DoI
Dept of Energy:
"Terrorist/extremist" groups
Dept of Interior/Bureau of Indian Affairs:
Expendable "racial shields" for govt acts such as land seizures characterized as "return of ancestral land"
Safe bases/staging areas
Dept of Interior/Natl Park Svc:
See DoI
Mebbe so, mebbe no, but the above seem the most likely to me.
