Oregon Massacre, Part One: Blood Dancing Without a Band. Am I the only one who laughed when Obama cut his latest appeal for firearms sales?

An evil Nazi-symp momma's boy who couldn't get dates has executed nine people in a victim disarmament zone in Oregon for the crime of being Christian. I am going to split my reaction into three parts. I was quite busy yesterday, so I got my information updates in disconnected sections when I was able to get near a radio or the television. Apart from the confused early reports of what happened, the first solid statement I heard on this predictable result of a criminal free fire zone was the video of Obama's long commercial for folks to buy more firearms.
Here is the transcript of Obama's sales pitch for more firearms. I reprint it here in full as a significant historical document that demonstrates once again Obama's complete lack of understanding of the Law of Unintended Consequences and his unchallenged -- and hugely successful -- salesmanship of the concept of firearms proliferation among the citizenry. I'll have some comments on the backside of this amazing, petulant screed.

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT ON THE SHOOTINGS AT UMPQUA COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN ROSEBURG, OREGON
James S. Brady Press Briefing Room
6:22 P.M. EDT
There’s been another mass shooting in America — this time, in a community college in Oregon.
That means there are more American families — moms, dads, children — whose lives have been changed forever. That means there’s another community stunned with grief, and communities across the country forced to relieve their own anguish, and parents across the country who are scared because they know it might have been their families or their children.
I’ve been to Roseburg, Oregon. There are really good people there. I want to thank all the first responders whose bravery likely saved some lives today. Federal law enforcement has been on the scene in a supporting role, and we’ve offered to stay and help as much as Roseburg needs, for as long as they need.
In the coming days, we’ll learn about the victims — young men and women who were studying and learning and working hard, their eyes set on the future, their dreams on what they could make of their lives. And America will wrap everyone who’s grieving with our prayers and our love.
But as I said just a few months ago, and I said a few months before that, and I said each time we see one of these mass shootings, our thoughts and prayers are not enough. It’s not enough. It does not capture the heartache and grief and anger that we should feel. And it does nothing to prevent this carnage from being inflicted someplace else in America — next week, or a couple of months from now.
We don’t yet know why this individual did what he did. And it’s fair to say that anybody who does this has a sickness in their minds, regardless of what they think their motivations may be. But we are not the only country on Earth that has people with mental illnesses or want to do harm to other people. We are the only advanced country on Earth that sees these kinds of mass shootings every few months.
Earlier this year, I answered a question in an interview by saying, “The United States of America is the one advanced nation on Earth in which we do not have sufficient common-sense gun-safety laws — even in the face of repeated mass killings.” And later that day, there was a mass shooting at a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. That day! Somehow this has become routine. The reporting is routine. My response here at this podium ends up being routine. The conversation in the aftermath of it. We’ve become numb to this.
We talked about this after Columbine and Blacksburg, after Tucson, after Newtown, after Aurora, after Charleston. It cannot be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on a gun.
And what’s become routine, of course, is the response of those who oppose any kind of common-sense gun legislation. Right now, I can imagine the press releases being cranked out: We need more guns, they’ll argue. Fewer gun safety laws.
Does anybody really believe that? There are scores of responsible gun owners in this country –they know that’s not true. We know because of the polling that says the majority of Americans understand we should be changing these laws — including the majority of responsible, law-abiding gun owners.
There is a gun for roughly every man, woman, and child in America. So how can you, with a straight face, make the argument that more guns will make us safer? We know that states with the most gun laws tend to have the fewest gun deaths. So the notion that gun laws don’t work, or just will make it harder for law-abiding citizens and criminals will still get their guns is not borne out by the evidence.
We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours. So we know there are ways to prevent it.
And, of course, what’s also routine is that somebody, somewhere will comment and say, Obama politicized this issue. Well, this is something we should politicize. It is relevant to our common life together, to the body politic. I would ask news organizations — because I won’t put these facts forward — have news organizations tally up the number of Americans who’ve been killed through terrorist attacks over the last decade and the number of Americans who’ve been killed by gun violence, and post those side-by-side on your news reports. This won’t be information coming from me; it will be coming from you. We spend over a trillion dollars, and pass countless laws, and devote entire agencies to preventing terrorist attacks on our soil, and rightfully so. And yet, we have a Congress that explicitly blocks us from even collecting data on how we could potentially reduce gun deaths. How can that be?
This is a political choice that we make to allow this to happen every few months in America. We collectively are answerable to those families who lose their loved ones because of our inaction. When Americans are killed in mine disasters, we work to make mines safer. When Americans are killed in floods and hurricanes, we make communities safer. When roads are unsafe, we fix them to reduce auto fatalities. We have seatbelt laws because we know it saves lives. So the notion that gun violence is somehow different, that our freedom and our Constitution prohibits any modest regulation of how we use a deadly weapon, when there are law-abiding gun owners all across the country who could hunt and protect their families and do everything they do under such regulations doesn’t make sense.
So, tonight, as those of us who are lucky enough to hug our kids a little closer are thinking about the families who aren’t so fortunate, I’d ask the American people to think about how they can get our government to change these laws, and to save lives, and to let young people grow up. And that will require a change of politics on this issue. And it will require that the American people, individually, whether you are a Democrat or a Republican or an independent, when you decide to vote for somebody, are making a determination as to whether this cause of continuing death for innocent people should be a relevant factor in your decision. If you think this is a problem, then you should expect your elected officials to reflect your views.
And I would particularly ask America’s gun owners — who are using those guns properly, safely, to hunt, for sport, for protecting their families — to think about whether your views are properly being represented by the organization that suggests it’s speaking for you.
And each time this happens I’m going to bring this up. Each time this happens I am going to say that we can actually do something about it, but we’re going to have to change our laws. And this is not something I can do by myself. I’ve got to have a Congress and I’ve got to have state legislatures and governors who are willing to work with me on this.
I hope and pray that I don’t have to come out again during my tenure as President to offer my condolences to families in these circumstances. But based on my experience as President, I can’t guarantee that. And that’s terrible to say. And it can change.
May God bless the memories of those who were killed today. May He bring comfort to their families, and courage to the injured as they fight their way back. And may He give us the strength to come together and find the courage to change.
Now, Obama is already on record as saying that his greatest frustration as boy-king without portfolio is his inability to order more citizen disarmament measures. But this statement passes all previous statements in its shrill, shrieking, foot-stomping, child-petulance of clueless narcissism. And even in the midst of the ghastly news of evil massacre, I must confess that as I watched this remarkable performance I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF.
Every time this schmuck opens his mouth on the subject he sells millions of more firearms and billions of rounds of ammunition. You have to wonder: when is he ever going to figure it out? But until he does, all I can say is, keep talking Barack. You're the greatest armaments salesman who ever lived, bar none. Just. Keep. Talking. (And the rest of us won't lack for amusement.)

Why are we having so many of these incidents during the reign of Obamus Ignomus?

This diatribe was not ad lib or off the cuff. It was a prepared statement written in advance, ready to be used following the next 'gun tragedy'. Just fill in the blanks as to location and methodology of shooting and you're ready to go.

Mark Levin (and myself, and probably all of you) knew what was coming. Levin jipped it live until the eighth paragraph, and when Obama said 'common-sense gun legislation' that was all he could take, and he said so on the air. He talked about the shooting for the first hour and twenty minutes of his show, and it was righteous. I hope you were listening.

Regarding gun sales, this might be another good opportunity to add SWHC and RGR to your portfolio.

This is nothing but bullshit rhetoric. Obama and the democrats don't give a flying fuck about the in any mass shooting. They only care about pushing their full disarmament agenda forward. They promote "gun free zones" because they know these places will eventually be targeted by some crazy lefty giving them fodder for their "common sense control law " agenda. They never let a good crisis go to waste. In fact, they set up the situation so that more crises will develop.

Was the shooter a lefty? He singled out Christians for murder. What does THAT tell you! Either he was a leftist or he was a jihadist. But without the word 'mohammed' in his name, he was a leftist.

The moral for us is this. Never EVER allow any of your friends or loved ones to enter a Gun Free Zone!

I don't see Obama disarming his SS agents anytime soon. If guns don't make us safe, why is he, and all the other rich Liberals, protected in most cases by armed guards?

Why isn't he saying things like "Hey I have armed protection, why don't our children have the same kind of protection?"

All those guns in America and NO ONE but the bad guy had one at school.

We're I Ted Cruz, I would wait until all these folks have proper unfettered and unmolested funerals. I would hold off saying anything until that time. Then, I would take to the stump with this Obama speech. I would read it line by line out loud and the pause....and then destroy each prepared and scripted talking point one at a time.

Make no mistake, done well, doing so could jump Cruz ahead of Trump in the Polls. It would put Barry and every parroting democrat and weasely rino on notice - issue the canned talking point garbage at your own peril....for each time you do your statements will be obliterated in the same fashion.

Hmmmm...I definitely think his speech was
Gined up for him either long before or shortly
after the shooting..there's NO WAY obamadulla
wrote a word of it, he doesn't have the intellectual
faculty to form coherent thoughts on his own
(Matt Bracken was right, "Dream's of My Father"
was written by Bill Ayres).

How damnably convenient that another shooting
occurred at a "Kill Zone"....parallax view anyone?

Yours In Rightful Liberty!

Maybe this is obeasy's way of stimulating the economy? Every time there's a shooting he comes out and talks about gun control and gun and ammo sales go up! Think of all the jobs that creates. BRILLIANT!!! sarc.

Did you notice how he kept sticking his lower lip out and pouting? No shot, pouting like a spoiled 7 year old. And you are correct, every time he rants about this, guns/ammo/armor sales go through the roof. I expect NICS checks to be, or at near, record levels in the coming days.

Gary, his children do have that protection.
Our children don't deserve effective protection, just ask him if you won't take my word for it.

True Marxist manipulation to further the cause; cause they want to be in charge. Since no socialist/communist nation can exist outside some form of capitalism. It can be nothing but the sheer power trip of those who wish to be in charge of a system that has proven to fail time and again. Nothing else but insanity would fit in to the notch which and events manipulated to achieve such a proposition.

Even Einstein said that preforming the same experiment over and over again and expecting different results was insane. This little common sense observation from a man who was alone in his intellectual world. Little needs be said of the man, I think.

That one premise alone, with objectively observing the current events has led me to the same conclusion. The mental condition in the being evinced in the actual events can lead any reasonable human being to conclude that the socialist bent is not a rational concept. The fact that the regime usually gets rid of the rebels and militants when they control the power base. They don't want insurgents when they betray the principles for the uprising. This has played out in every event except Cuba which is heavily supported by China and Russia.

So what do we do with these insane people, you know if you have had cogent discussion with them. So what is to happen when these people are not rational and, at least, border line insane

Well, that's all I have to say about that.

By posting a press release we miss an important moment in his speech seen "live" Obammy began to say "....groups (no doubt meaning NRA/GOA) that pur.... (he was going to say purport)" and immediately stopped. He was going to go full bore but chickened out fearing he alienate gun-owning Democrats.

So tired of this "we need more firearms control legislation" crap. There are thousands of regulations across this land. Enforce them. This is a mental health issue which no one wants to address. Shave some ambulance ride money, some social program money, some cell phone money and get treatment for these people while you're feeding them in school. Goddamn you've got them for 10 years in your schools, open your friggin' eyes and ears.

Interestingly enough, this is the second mass shooting where Christians were the targets. No one seems to have put that together. So now we have people being killed for their Christian faith here in this country and no one seems to really get it at all. Our so called president makes no mention of that at all, just uses the BS pulpit to preach more gun control. I must admit I will feel so much better when I do not have to see this person taking up media space anymore.

Maybe Cruz or another candidate should make a campaign promise to give every single illegal here a steady income,a place to live and the right to own a firearm. Take all the votes away from the Democratic party and then do what Obama does. NOTHING.
