How about we keep our firearms AND our tax money, you collectivist harpy?

Here the repellent harpies make their nests,
Who drove the Trojans from the Strophades
With dire announcements of the coming woe.
They have broad wings, with razor sharp talons and a human neck and face,
Clawed feet and swollen, feathered bellies; they caw
Their lamentations in the eerie trees. -- Dante's Inferno.
Collectivist harpy Rosa DeLauro in her natural habitat.
Get A $2,000 Tax Credit For Turning In Your Assault Rifles
“Assault weapons are not about hunting, or even self-defense,” DeLauro said. “There is no reason on earth, other than to kill as many people as possible in as short a time as possible, that anyone needs a gun designed for a battlefield.”
You know, this collectivist harpy is right about one thing. DeLauro is prominent in the firearm confiscationist/"government monopoly of violence" crowd. If she gets the civil war she is apparently soliciting I have no doubt that a semi-auto rifle of military utility will not be necessary to shoot regime tyrants. Indeed, hypothetically speaking, in a 4GW civil war against a nascent dictatorship, far more will fall to the aimed single shots of common deer rifles, or suppressed pistols, or knives in the dark, or bombs attached underneath limousines. . . She just might be trying to ban the wrong things.

If I were the devious sort I might build a bare bones AR for $500 and walk a way with $1500 in my pocket...

I know this card carrying member of the American/Ct, communist party. Her uncle was a big man in the New Haven Italian mafia. Till he became a snitch. And she has become a multi millionaire since being elected to congress years ago. She hates all guns not just the misnamed and wrongly feared AR-15/ high capacity magazines. She would ban black powder weapons if she could. Her head is so far up Nancy Pelosi's arse ,you can only see her ankles. Two ugly, wicked ,freedom hating, wenches. She is one vile dirt bag. Progressives ,the pox on them all. Behind Enemy Lines. In Unconstitutional, collectivist Ct. We Will Not Stand Down. AAA/O.11B20.

“There is no reason on earth, other than to kill as many people as possible in as short a time as possible, that anyone needs a gun designed for a battlefield.” -- Rep. Rosa DeLauro

After the American Civil War, or the War Between the States if you prefer, young American veterans began buying variations of the Henry, Spencer, and other "damn Yankee rifles that you load on Sunday and shoot all week". In short order as these things are measured, breech loaders and lever action rifles became the staples of America's hunters and stayed as the most popular types for 50 years.

Then thousands of American veterans returning from WWI took to the fields with rifles similar to what they used in the military, and the bolt action began to push the lever action out of the "most popular" spot.

Fast forward to the 1950's and America's WWII veterans start taking semi-auto rifles hunting because they had become familiar with the M1 Garand and M1 Carbine during their years of service and combat.

Now that the Gene Stoner's AR15/M16/M4 platform has become the longest serving design in US history, we see the same thing repeating. Young (and not so young) American veterans want to hunt with the gear they became familiar with in the military. Stoner's platform is on it's way to becoming the new standard for America's hunters.

In short, I'd like Rep. DeLauro to point out a time when America's hunters didn't take to the fields "with a gun designed for a battlefield".

Your calling her a harpy is perfectly apt.
The original meaning of harpy is "snatcher" and her goal is to snatch our property.

"Suppressed pistols", and the very best of those is the AWC Amphibian. Built on a Ruger Mark 3 lower receiver, the amphibian is integral barrel/suppressor firearm. The barrel IS the suppressor. Designed to use standard velocity .22LR ammo, the barrel is ported so that the bullet is slowed to subsonic velocity before it leaves the muzzle.
I have one. Yes, it is a NFA regulated firearm. Sounds like a pneumatic staple gun, pellet gun, BB gun...anything but a .22LR pistol. Over-priced in my opinion at $1600.00 plus the $200 transfer tax for a suppressor, but a fine, accurate Ruger target grade .22LR pistol.

A very handy tool for depopulating collectivist "feral pigs".

Calling her a harpy is an insult to harpies. And the ass clowns in Connecticut have elected that bitch 13 effing times, the last in 2014 with 65% of the vote. Mebbe she'd like us to donate our votes, for a tax credit too. For her and all the other socialist engineers in DC, Rights are just something else up for sale. She would be just as happy to give out a reward for some ones life turned over to the FedGov. as well.

Well, now that various versions of the NDAA have declared all of the USA to be a "battlefield", there ya go...

Do you have an old shot out AR barrel? Add a cheap 80% lower ($60), an old stock ($100) and a worn out upper receiver ($75), trade it for $2000 in tax breaks? Priceless! Hell, you might even get these idiots to accept your sons old and broken "air soft" AR carbine.

Go read the actual bill, it's a GIFT to gun owners. She wants to give us a $2000 tax credit for turning in broken .22 pistols with threaded barrels.

Hell, I would go buy a broken gun to turn in every year just to get the credit. Even if it has to be working, I can get a bare bones AR15 for $500, putting $1500 in my pocket.

I would absolutely build a bunch of $500 ARs and turn them in for $2K apiece. Maybe ream the chamber or key areas of the receiver before doing so, making the guns unsafe to fire...they ARE going into the wrong hands, after all. The benefits of doing this would be three-fold: 1. I lower my taxes, 2. The firearms industry is further stimulated, and 3. The feds now have less stolen $$$ to use against me (not that budget shortfalls ever stopped them in the past though). Sounds to me like a decent deal!

I think this is a great idea. Since you can buy a basic AR-15 for about $800 (or less), buying one for this program would help keep gunmakers in business; and the tax credit is more than double what the rifle cost. Win-win. Winning! I wonder how many tax credits I could get?

We need to call our GOP legislators and demand that they vote for this bill immediately!

I am quite sure that I can come up with an "assault weapon" for vastly less than $2000, all of which will assuredly go into buying more "assault weapons".

It's like a 2nd Christmas every year!

...but the best part will be the enraged howls of the gun-haters when they realize their own stupidity as well as their subsequent inability to repeal what will assuredly become an immensely popular law.

Let us devour that which would devour us.

Look at these fools - happy as hell to TURN IN GUNS for their love of money!

Shame on you!!! Might as well go join up with moms demand action!

Wait- maybe you already did .....

I wouldn't sell my hundred dollar 22 to gubmint for a million bucks. I'd GIVE it to another Patriot in a heartbeat instead.

Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics.

This is classic guerilla warfare.

1) It fills our pockets.
2) It drains the government coffers.
3) It exposes the stupidity of the grabbers.
4) It subsidizes the private gun manufacturing industry.
5) It's something our side enjoys (making a fool of the grabbers.)
6) It encourages tax scheming, which is a form of disobedience, amongst not just us, but the general population once word of the scheme gets out.

Run this out mentally. We can get a lot of new arms in people's hands. How? Do a "two for taxes" special on AR-15s. Sell them a pair -- a good gun for $800, and a POS for $200. You tell them, "turn gun #2 into your local PD, keep gun #1, and now the government is paying you $1000 to buy a gun."

How many more arms can get into the hands of the unorganized militia that way?

Mindless patriotism won't win this fight. A guerilla mindset will.

Sell it to the "gubmint" for $2000 bucks, buy TWENTY MORE GUNS, and then you can give 19 to other patriots and STILL have your gun.

Why do you have the movement so much that you would keep 19 guns out of circulation just to satisfy your own pride?
