It all sounds good until you get to the part "where the rubber meets the road" - i.e., combat. What happens if the suit is hit? What about the power source for the suit? That was a nice bright shiny write up, but it needs to be scuffed up a bit in the real world before some actual deployment to our troops.
If this early attempt at power armor is powerful enough to make a man multiply his effective stregth several times over, that means it will be powerful to enable carrying of heavy armor around the man that small arms cant penetrate, i.e. walking tanks. This is just a prototype that is open so the eggheads can see how it works. The final versions will be encased in full armor of course.
Considering the equipment is still in the birthing stage I will wager that the case of ballistic protection is waiting in the wings until they get the mobility ability taken care of.
I for one wish this stuff was available when I was still active.
they may be "walking tanks" but think GROUND PRESSURE.
unless they put the equivalent of snowshoes on the thing any unstable ground at all will become just like quicksand. let 'em chase you across a sand pit, watch as they sink in up to their knees, then politely ask them to surrender or you'll roast them alive in their tin cans.
the tactics are the same if the heavy armor is on foot or on wheels or on tracks...immobilize then kill it with fire.

"Our" troops?
They'll probably just double the Soldiers' loads!
Sounds about right, doesn't it? :-/

The soldier of the future: hauling way too much, way too far, and taking all friggin day to do it!

I see definite possibilities with this.
I'm thinking supply by armed drone should be possible.
