We are talking about RIGHTS here. Anon @ 8:35PM,I believe when the dust settles, the people who engaged in open carry will win and get a nice settlement. Look at this scenario; you have a 1st Amendment RIGHT to free speech, but you must meet in secret to express that RIGHT. Is that really a RIGHT? Or, you have a 4th Amendment RIGHT against illegal searches and seizures, but you must bury everything in the ground to exercise that RIGHT? WTF?
You do understand that the murder rate was lower during the Dodge city times don't you? And you do realize that open carry was permitted but concealed was not because , you know , only criminals had to hide their guns .
Now , as I understand you , you are a "fucktard" if you exercise a right at a time and place that may make someone else uncomfortable . Quite amazing to say the least . I was unaware of some amendment that was added that said " unless it offends or makes one uncomfortable" .
As far as "backlash" , that is when you get to see the true colors of those that are suppose to represent you . And backlash goes both ways , as we have seen with some of the worst guns laws being struck down .
And lastly , many open carry simply for their own self defense . Not to make a statement . And you want to degrade them for that . Simply amazing . Your not " second amendment all the way" , your one of the reasons we have had some of these bad gun laws instituted in the first place . Right there with the fudds .
No rights were ever saved by quietly and secretly exercising them . Use them or lose them . Simple as that .
