I'd say that you publish the names, addresses, and phone numbers of each and every person connected with this decision....starting with the judge, his clerk, the lawyers for the paper, and all of the employees associated with that rag. This seemed to work with the Conn fools. Additionally, why not petition for and publish the names, addresses, phone numbers, and criminal records of all the government employees in that county. Can't think of a better way to turn those stupid hypocrits into targets.

Judge 'Double Dipper' Neary. Scamming the taxpayer out of a salary AND a retirement check. A paragon of virtue.

Every "list" government employees create should and must be "public" information. If our tax dollars FUND the creation then we have to have access to that information. Period.

That said - IS the reason those LISTS aren't supposed to be generated IN THE FIRST PLACE!

It always pisses me off to see folks get TRICKED into cementing government secrecy! Folks get hoodwinked into supporting government keeping these lists secret INSTEAD of opposing government generating them in the first place!

What BETTER way is there to end the creation of the LISTS than to STEADFASTLY SUPPORT THEM BEING MADE PUBLIC!??? See, even the FUDDS do not want THEIR names made public - so even the FUDDS would oppose the lists CREATION if this issue was presented that way.

Time to stop bahhhhing like sheep and looking deeper into situations.

Liberty DEFENDERS would actually SUPPORT this judge and the decision made. For the best way to rid ourselves of the worst of the worst laws is to advocate enforcement of them take place wide and far.

Know why?

Cuz then it pisses off the most people possible and those who crafted the idiocy and those who helped implement the foolishness are quickly run out of town on a rail!

Wake up folks, stop being DUUUUUUPPPPEEEDDD!

While we are at it, how about placing signs in the front yard of the newspaper's employees that state "NO GUNS HERE" "BURGLARS WELCOME". Put the shoe on the other foot for a change.
Maybe the County Gubmint might have an "accidental fire" and all the records got burned.
How about the criminal records of the newspaper employees too. I recall an employee of a small town newspaper being discovered to be an "out of state" sex offender/child molester. The paper's publisher was the son of a former Governor and the publisher's son was the State Attorney General & later became a member of Congress.(A.B.Chandler)

Anonymous @ 6:51 AM - DITTO.
I'd even add in the names and addresses of any and all persons who have ever committed a crime, especially things such drunk driving.
Of course rational Citizens realize that most states can't even keep track of 'registered' sex offenders.............

If I disclose to someone that I have a concealed carry permit, I can be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. But the newspapers can tell people that I have a concealed carry permit. Typical liberal insanity.

This is absolute BS! Just because we are forced to provide our personal information to some peons in a government office somewhere (taxes, vehicles, licenses, etc.), does NOT make our private information, PUBLIC information!

Wouldn't Judge Neary just LOVE to have his own home address and phone number posted online. What's GOOD FOR THE GOOSE sure must be GOOD FOR THE GANDER.

Putnam County, NY executive Mary Ellen Odell is fighting the Journal News in court. She lost from this judge, but she is planning to appeal to a higher court. I called her office to praise her for standing up against the newspaper and refusing to release the list. I talked to her assistant who agreed with me and thanked me for supporting her. You can call her office at (845)808-1000 to thank her for fighting for the rights of Putnam countians and urge her to continue the fight and refuse to release the list of pistol permit holders. I think we should take every opportunity to praise and thank people who stand up for our rights.

From the newspaper article quoted above: "CynDee Royle, The Journal News' editor and vice president/news, said the law is clear that the records belong to the public. "The decision supports that position and enforces the public's right to open records," she said."
