Actually, what the Supreme Court says is irrelevant one way or the other. The maintenance of our natural, God-given and inalienable rights doesn't depend upon the Supreme Court, but on ourselves. Thus has it always been for free men and women. My suggestion to the wannabe tyrants of Connecticut to hold the enforcement of their law until the Supremes rule in a couple years was designed to give us more time to get ready and, only incidentally, as a favor to keep them alive. We always retain the the right of self-defense of liberty, property and life. As for the phrase "lazy Americans," it suggests that the poster is some foreign troll, no doubt from some self-emasculated borg-hive like England. In any case, he risks nothing, says nothing and is nothing. In fact, using the illustration of a troll above is probably an insult to honest trolls everywhere. Next I'll be hearing from the Troll Anti-Defamation League of Middle Earth.

Well, if the enemy wants to underestimate us, I certainly won't get in the way or argue. Of course there are some angry gun owners that will choose to acquiesce when the SHTF -but what percentage? Dear Leader has already pretty much rendered congress irrelevant. He has also shown utter contempt for the rulings of federal courts (else why didn't the government start issuing drilling permits in the gulf after the federal judge told them to?) and even ignored the supreme court on minimum wage?
If he doesn't have to obey SCOTUS, why do we? After all, We The People ARE the boss; aren't we? Does not all power flow from the people to the several states and thence to the federal government? If our servants consider themselves to be above such petty concerns as following the dictats of judges and courts, why should we, the masters, consider ourselves subject to those same judges and courts? When the rule of law breaks down it does so completely. If we are willing to accept the probable consequences of our actions what is there to MAKE us obey? Any government which fails in its duty to protect individual rights rightfully OUGHT TO BE ABOLISHED if those who perceive that it has done so agree to the attempt at abolishment. Naturally such a government should not be expected to meekly accept its own demise - any more than people such as the anonymous poster should expect that we will meekly knuckle under to what we perceive to be tyranny.
Some differences can only be settled by combat - and THEN only temporarily. The issue of states' rights was not settled permanently in the 1860s. It may still be revisited by any state or group of states desiring to do so. Even SCOTUS has reversed itself on occasion. No question can ever truly said to be permanently settled so long as the potential for people to disagree on it.
The comment reminds me of the Oath Keepers. I have reached out to them via their website several times, practically begging for an Oath Keeper contact here in San Antonio, TX. Never a peep. And I subscribe to the Oath Keeper RSS feed from their website, but all they publish is tepid material usually from some other site.
I suspect that the Oath Keepers are like most rambos, all chrome and shiney knife when the situation calls for a bloody machete. Speak up Oath Keepers, or shut down.
In 1859 Lincoln made a speech that identified just such this thing. Lincoln being against slavery recognized that the Constitution recognized and authorized slavery. Even feeling the way he did he chose and so very stongly pleased that the Constitution, the rule of law, be followed regardless of of oour personal values.
Lincolns comment was directed at the attempt of the lgislature and the coourts ruling against the constitutional mandate. His conclusion was that the people had the right to chose their own destiny:
"The people... are the rightful masters of the legislature and the courts. Not to overthrow the Constitution but those men who pervert it."

SCOTUS is ALREADY in a box of its own making. If it COULD have avoided Heller and McDonald it would have done so. But the fact is simple - it could stall no more and they could NOT uphold any of the longstanding bullshit (militia service, collective right, muskets only, etc) without risking a civil war IT would be responsible for starting.
Now, it's almost comical watching the loyalist bastards try to move forward with gun gun control as if those decisions never happened. The Supreme Court has previously ruled that black people aren't real people (Dred Scott v Sandford) and that women can be forcibly sterilized if the state thinks they're too stupid to breed (buck v bell). Let's not forget that these Supreme Court Justices are humans and are not infallible. Our right to bear arms was given to us by God, not man, and can only be taken away from us by God, not man.

Regarding a ban on Russian ammo, I have heard a RUMOR - note the terminology - that Putin has banned exports of ammo to the US in retaliation for what, exactly, I don't know. Maybe he wants to have enough ammo to invade Ukraine withou digging into his deep reserves?
I'll believe it when I see an official announcement. Meanwhile, there are reports of Russkie ammo flying off the shelves...here we go again.

Drew Rinella - I basically agree with your comment, our right to defend ourselves, families and property are indeed God given, whether we choose to use any sort of implement (be it a bloody machete or a shiny knife ;-) or any other arm is OUR decision - not that of a 'state'. Weapons just happen to be the most effective means of exercising that right. "They" can try (quite possibly at their own peril) to confiscate any and all things that can be used but they cannot take away that inherent right
