What did they expect?
"It appears that even after making it clear they plan to be the anti-NRA in 2014, Giffords and her husband wanted to attend a gun show to continue to project the image that they are average American gun owners like the rest of us. Gun show attendees did not seem to buy it."

Want to know something? I was in car accident once. I guess, according to the Giffords/Kelly School of Logic that now makes me an expert on all things automobile-related.
I should be able to testify in front of the state legislatures, and the national legislators about blood alcohol levels, speed limits and how they relate to population density, as well as the inner-workings of the most advanced cars, such as Priuses, and even Teslas.
Of course it doesn't!!! That whole idea is ridiculous! And to say otherwise is a sign of a very disturbed mind with serious delusions. Just because Gabby Giffords got shot, that doesn't make her, nor her astronaut husband an expert in all-things firearms.
I'd love to have them visit a gun show within 100 miles of me so I could castigate them in person.
I'd get some KKK style pointy white hoods, print up iron on transfers of guns with big red circles and a slash through the guns, and present the new national figureheads of the anti civil rights lobby's Gun Klux Klan with appropriate headgear.
Then I'd ask everybody to gather around and critique a speech I wrote, about how these people attacking our civil rights are no more welcome at a gun show than the two top ranking leaders of the 1950s KKK would be at an ice cream social at a black church in Mississippi.
I'd want to mention that 100 million lawful gun owners aren't responsible for his wife's brain damage, nor does her brain damage make her qualified to tell the rest of us how the country should be run. The man responsible for her injury was a collectivist bigot just like them.
I'd close the speech by telling Mark that if he really supports the 2A, and wants to do something meaningful, something that will make 100 million gun owners stand up and cheer for him, he should throw his wife off a cliff and jump off after her.
Then I'd ask the crowd to cheer if they support my words. After which I'd ask them to shout me down if they oppose my words. The lickspittle media lackeys following those two hateful bigots around would be forced to record it all.
