Deep in the heart of Texas. Keeping the world safe from the twin scourges of okra and blackberries. Cops can't tell difference between pot and tomatoes.

Arlington Farm Owners Demand Apology From Police After Drug Raid Comes Up Empty
"Eaker told NBC 5 that the six adults who live at the farm - what they describe as a community that has come together with the common values of freedom, sustainability and consciousness - were handcuffed when SWAT officers from the Arlington Police Department came to their home with weapons drawn. The handcuffs are standard procedure during the search of suspected narcotics operations, according to Sgt. Christopher Cook of the Arlington Police Department. Tactical officers assisted in the execution of the search warrants to secure the location so narcotics detectives could safely enter the property, police noted in a statement to NBC 5."

Screw the apology. Sue the Arlington PD for millions. A statement must be made to these neo-nazi bastards, to protect other innocent victims from similar raids. Do Not settle out of court. Keep giving the Arlington PD a black eye, by keeping this raid in the public eye. Start a publicity campaign against them, so even the most brain dead citizen, has heard of this illegal raid. Only when the larger portion of the community has lost all respect for the PD, will heads roll and reforms be instituted.

As long as the "war on drugs" continue expect to see larger and larger violations of civil liberties and "bystander" casualties...

the Key to this is, It was never about Drugs, it was about the fact that these people don't need the government in their lives, they can fend for themselves, feed themselves etc.. so they got stomped on to send a message

you cant be self sufficient in the eyes of this establishment or they will lie about why they are fucking with you and yours, or possibly jail you on false pretense or worse..kill ya

I got news for the dipshits commenting on this story on the local news site:

This raid was at least in part justified by the government thugs b/c the people didn't have the proper "permits" to grow food as a business.

More accurately, they didn't have the permission of the government to live as they please or use their land as they see fit.

This is the problem with drug laws...if they can tell you what "recreational" drugs you can useor put inside your own body...they can tell you whose tomatoes you can eat...and that won't include the ones you grew yourself; probably b/c they didn't see enough revenue off of its growth.

You Texans tell us all how free you are again....

And then compare it to the string of stories coming out of your "whole 'nother country" where the gubmint infringes on gun rights, supports illegal immigration (NAFTA superhighway anyone?), etc.

I see way more of this kind of abuse coming from supposedly free TX than I do here in "commie" WA.
