Nullification: How states are making it a felony to enforce federal gun laws.

Such laws are fine -- but you'd better be ready with an alternate plan of nullification by rifle muzzle.

Amazing how the same ignorant and wrong comments are made over and over by the media and govt types on nullification, just like on the gun issue. Read the above link for the truth about nullification, and how it is both legal but also specifically advocated by madison and jefferson, and how it was used in Wisconsin to nullify the fugitive slave act - which infuriated the supreme court.

I'm afraid gentle people that our government/s only consider or obey the laws they want to, which creates an opportunity for conflict and also resolution, painful though it may be.

It is very clear that they intend to have it their way, in all respects.

They have ended the verbal conversation in which only one side, their's, was presented. We are now supposed to bow down before them and let them take whatever they want and destroy anything and anyone they don't like.

There is a fight coming because they will have it no other way and they are, every one of them treasonous bastards, most of whom embrace Marx, instead of Washington, Jefferson and Madison.

They have stolen from the people what they have and wish to steal the rest including anything that provides liberty or utility or resistance against them.

These State nullification laws are fine......but if the State doesn't practice the doctrine of Interposition, then they're meaningless.

Governor Brownbacks letter to Holder:

I suggest the good Governor and the Congress there to put out the call for a unorganized Citizens militia.

Pretty much.

One of the things I disagree with Mike on is the parallels -- or lack thereof -- between the 'nullies' of the 19th century and today. We're not so much 'secessionist' as 'would you kindly follow your own goddamn rules, Mr. Fed?'.

Regardless of what transpired 'back then' (and I still hold to the theory that we could've all been saved a lot of trouble if Andrew Jackson had hung John C. Calhoun) there are some serious, and profound, issues today. The federal government insists on its own supremacy even when constitutionally speaking, it is completely out of order and out of control.

The irony of Colorado and Washington state legalizing marijuana has not been lost on me, as it puts the administration into a situation similar to states that are basically giving the finger to federal gun grab laws. In effect, either the feds tolerate it and erode their own authority (not to mention setting a de facto rule), or they push back and get burned.

My gut instinct -- and take it with a grain of salt -- is that Obama will blink. I don't think he's got the intestinal fortitude to go for a head-on confrontation. He'll back off, leave the issue up in the air for the next Democrat dimwit to tackle. Like many liberals, he doesn't have any principles, so he's not going to stick in come hell or high water.
