The ORIGINAL gathering place for a merry band of Three Percenters. (As denounced by Bill Clinton on CNN!)
I was hunting with a model 12 twelve gauge when I was 13, never noticed the kick. Now the marines need training to get over the recoil? God be with them.
Way back in the late 60's, we guarded munition bunkers with Model 97 Winchester trench guns, with double 00 buck, at Camp Geiger, outside Camp Lejeune. The brass did not want M-14's anywhere near the ammo bunkers. While the 97's functioned well, the bluing was long gone and the shotguns looked like they had been used as a club in two or more wars. Although the shotguns had bayonet lugs, no bayonets were issued, to eliminate horseplay.
Wow, I'm surprised the gaurds werent ordered to carry pointed sticks instead.
Since guard duty is defensive, shotguns are excellent. I've never seen an ASP (Ammo Supply Point) guarded with anything else. You don't want to accomplish the enemy's mission for them.
Why not field frangible/low velocity 556 in the standard and more familiar rifle/carbine?
Swift is correct. We always guarded with munitions bunkers with 12 ga. 00 buck. Nothing new here.Old CorpsSemper FiDevildogBehind Enemey Lines in Colorful Commierado
But wouldn't be simpler to get an Oath Keeper on the post to accidentally leave the place unlocked? I figure more'n a couple of Guard armories are gonna fall prey to that tactic (at least I certainly HOPE it happens that way.) I also hope the insurgents go after all that cherry hollow-point ammo HSD is stockpiling before going after the ball ammo in military dumps.
