Illinois AG Madigan wants more time to decide how to keep citizens defenseless

"A right delayed is a right denied," said Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Illinoisans' Constitutionally guaranteed, fundamental human right of the individual to keep and bear arms has already been delayed far too long. People are still being jailed for violating a "law" that the federal courts have found to be unconstitutional.

When Kagen grants the extension, possibly even more than 30 days, Lisa will then file in the 7th to match that by extending the stay.

This is a two pronged situation. One - the obvious delay delay delay tactic but two- there's an effort here to twist the ILGA arms into a may issue bill.

Best case scenario for the antis now is avoiding a summer of carrying where they cannot arrest at the mere mention of a gun. And that winds up a nationwide win for freemen.

I think a shocker might be afoot. A Kagan denial of extension and a denial of cert if Lisa does actually file. SCOTUS did some heavy lifting and I'm thinking its looking to push lower courts to do some on the order of what Posner and company did.

We shall see.

Lisa Madigan is "a dirty whore" as Uncle Ted would say... I leave it to you to decide if her status as a politician is an insult to honest hardworking prostitutes.

If the NRA fucks it up for Illinois gunowners and succeeds in tricking enough state reps into voting for a restrictive carry bill, I hope angry Illinois gun owners will come live in Indiana.

What would my prospective new neighbors have to look forward to besides lower crime, lower taxes, and better schools?

Indiana does not register gun owners as Illinois does. If you want to exercise your right to defensive carry, Indiana has a first-in-the-nation lifetime permit for either open OR concealed carry. This is NOT a "FOID" card. If you want to go without ANY paperwork, you can own a gun in Indiana without having to register it - as long as you can find an interested private party willing to trade/barter/sell to you.

Indiana has a firearms preemption statute that prevents local government from enacting bans or other prior restraint on your 2A rights, including no magazine or 'assault weapon' infringements.

Indiana is a Castle / Stand Your Ground state. You will not be prosecuted for defending yourself with a firearm lawfully. As anywhere, know your laws and keep it real - and legal.

Indiana has MANY gun ranges, both public and private, that are safely and professionally operated by range-masters with extensive cred.

Indiana has enhanced 4th Amendment protections that dovetail with our Castle laws: Police cannot forcibly search your home or arrest you without probable cause (read: no federal shenanigans). You have a right to resist illegal search, seizure and arrest. I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as advice; it isn't. Just find one and ask about it.

Indiana, unlike Illinois, does not outlaw the right to freely associate or assemble with other gun-owners as part of a citizen militia. If you (correctly) perceive that the hour is late and that our nation's liberty is in GREAT peril (as all of us 3%'rs do), then you can join a constitutional militia like at www.indianamilitia.org and prep for the common defense.

Indiana is a generally conservative state. There are a few small pockets of socialism in certain districts (every state has them), and some RINO's here and there, but in the main Indiana has a far greater per-capita portion of hardcore patriots, Christians, home-schoolers, preppers, Libertarians, militia, returned veterans, and all the other kinds of people that Bull Dyke Janet (the younger one) fears and loathes. You will find yourself in good company, and few places in the nation can boast a better environment for gunowners. Even Texas lacked the sort of shall-issue, pro-gun laws that have been a staple in Indiana for several decades now. You can buy any gun you please in a commercial FFL establishment - or gun show - in Indiana, and you can walk out minutes later without having to wait. During the Brady years, no NICS check applied to Indiana because of our permitting system.

I realize that Indiana may not have constitutional carry, few states do. I realize that there is still a lot of room for Indiana to improve where limited Constitutional government is concerned. I relish the day when we can all be free and sovereign individuals beholden to no one or restrained by any thing except the limits of others' liberty (the essence of libertarianism). But compared to some of the socialist hellholes around the country, and Illinois in particular, you'll find that Indiana is a deep breath of fresh air!!

If any of you reading this are also from Indiana, use as much of what I wrote above as you please, to pitch for besieged gun businesses to relocate to Indiana. Ditto if you live in another anti-gun state, on which note I also extend a warm welcome to move here.

PS: The hunting here is pretty good too.
