Other than the power to prosecute, the taxing authority is the most awesome power the government has. It can ruin people and companies. When wielded for political purposes, it is a violation of the basic contract the American people have with their government. The abuse admitted by Ms. Lerner can't be dismissed in a casual apology on a casual Friday as no big deal. It's a very big and bad deal.

If you read the actual memos requesting information was illiterate. So one of the most horrifying aspects of this is -- when we are tyrannized it will be by people with IQs of about 60, who cannot function in English.
I don't have a "contract" with ANY government. Never did, and never will. A contract is something mutually agreed to and mutually beneficial.
Show me where I signed any contract...
For the administration to deny that upper level management did not know, is laughable. This administration has to be one of the most corrupt since Grant was president. You can bet that memo's linking the WH to Cincinnati, have not been released.
If this was done at the prodding of the high ups in the regime it boarders on an act of war.
As my father (RIP) would say: "Congratulations. You've discovered America, Columbus." My parents were "of the left" and they, and about everyone political that they associated with, were audited avery year. They were financially honest people, and they realized that government scrutiny/harassment came with the territory.
