Texas 6th graders design flags for a new socialist nation

haha, man, someone just wasn't paying attention. who'd he think even came up with the idea to adopt the public schools?

in america, people used to erect liberty poles. many still stand, though virtually all have forgotten. it would have been an insult to colonial conservatives to even suggest putting a flag on one. with this in mind, i see the exercise largely as a wash.

hopefully some clever kid just tore out the pages of a "flags of the world" book, put his name on top, and just turned them all in -- but it would be enough for any to recognize that their own country has waxed dangerously socialist, and to have found a way to indicate that.; February 8, 2013 at 6:20 AM
