What I want the government to pay for to assist my "quality of life."
Laura Ingraham had fun on her show yesterday asking listeners what "quality of life" things they would like the government to pay for in lieu of contraception. Being involved in a bit a co-pay generation at the time, I didn't have the time to call her, but I did send her this email later:
RE: Quality of Life -- what I want the government to pay for.
Thomas Jefferson once wrote: "A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." (Thomas Jefferson, Encyclopedia of T. Jefferson, 318, Foley, Ed., reissued 1967.)
Therefore, I would like the government to assist my "wellness" activity by supplying me with a case of small arms ammunition a month in my choice of caliber.

A communist government keeping me supplied with communist calibers? That's a federal subsidy I can believe in!
I'll have some 7.62x39, a little 7.62x54r, and maybe some 9x18mm Makarov now and then.
Beats the heck out of government cheese.

Mike, you gave a USPS PO BOX address.
NO HAZMAT CAN BE SHIPPED USPS!
Better amend your request for ammo, FedEx or ups ground will be fine...
It had to be Mike who came up with the first socialist program I might be willing to compromise my principles for.
A case a month!? That's better than I used to do with the National Guard as an instructor drawing "proficiency ammo"!
I really, really need a case or two or 9mm Luger in order to properly break in my new Beretta. It calms me and soothes the soul.
How about an "applicator" for the ammo. Something belt-fed would improve my quality of life.
A boy could easily spend $300K on belt-fed weapon ammunition during law school.
Be safe!
Let's see. A pallet of ammo a week, one of the abandoned missle silos/bases that are up for sale. The means to fix, modifiy, reinforce and make livable that same base. An M1 Abrahms tank, a lifetime supply of fuel and ammo for that, a couple of classic sports cars, a new truck, $150million in cash. *fingersnap* Oh and green cards/slash citizen ship for any lovely lasses from south of the border, russia or anyplace else that wants to join my harem. That is all.
mike, you are short-changing yourself on this issue. whereas, the government of the united states decreed that each household in iraq could legally keep a full auto ak47 for defensive purposes, i think that the government should provide to each household of the u.s. a full auto m16 and sufficient ammo for all residents of said household to practice every year.
