Home Schooling Gets a BIG Boost: Obama Plays to Tyrannical Collectivist Stereotype

A cult of personality arises when a country's leader uses mass media to create an idealized and heroic public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. Cults of personality are often found in dictatorships and Stalinist governments. A cult of personality is similar to general hero worship, except that it is created specifically for political leaders. -- Wikipedia.

In 1930's Germany, the new socialist government of Adolf Hitler (NAZI National Socialist Workers' Party) began indoctrinating children in the quasi-military organization, the Hitler Youth, to inform on their parents should they overhear discussions subversive to the policies of the Leader. -- Bart Willruth, "Citizen Informants," at American Thinker, 5 August 2009.

These people have absolutely no concept of what it is about themselves that scares the crap out of traditional Americans. Absolutely none. Either that, or in their arrogance they don't care, or are too stupid to see the unintended consequences.

All of the above?

How else to explain this?

Obama is going to speak to our children who are enrolled in government-run schools, directly and over our heads on 8 September. The link above is the "PreK-6 Menu of Classroom activities" of "President Obama's Address to Students Across America." No president has ever been so full of himself, or so dismissive of parental authority, to try something like this.

None.

Never.

"Every girl belongs to us" -- League of German Maidens poster

A snippet:

As the President speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful. Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a Cluster Web, or students could record their thoughts on sticky notes. Younger children can draw pictures and write as appropriate. As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:

What is the President trying to tell me?

What is the President asking me to do?

What new ideas and actions is the President challenging me to think about?

Oh, yeah. Home schooling ought to get a BIG boost out of this.

Folks are already concerned about the unadulterated collectivist propaganda crap that passes for education which is poured into our kids ears every day at these indoctrination centers. Now Obama wants to reinforce that with what can only be perceived as an attempt to create a cult of personality in little kids' heads?

"They're coming for our children and will turn them against us like the Hitler Youth," used to be considered paranoia unsupported by facts.

Good job, Obamanoids. Great plan: Further scare the crap out of people who are already pissed off and uneasy.

Of course if you want to come to DC the following Saturday on 12 September, and join us in telling Obama what he can do with his cult of personality, you'll have plenty of company.

See you there.

They have already pulled a praise the Fuhrer Ah I mean President video in a school in Utah. Complete with celebrities stating their undying loyalty to the Chancellor Ah I mean President.
The principal claims she didn't know it would be so political. And Clinton claims he did not have sex with that woman.

I'll get a full report from my boys. They are no fans of Der Hussein. There will, of course, be no fawning reports of admiration given to their teachers, as they and about eight of their friends make it their business every day to challenge the leftist skanks that pass for teachers. You wanna try and indoctrinate everybodys' kids with your communist garbage? I got my own counter-revolutionary action squad in your midst, and they ain't foolin' either.

You are right, Mike. This looks to me like indoctrination in the cult of messianic fascism. To wit: For there is purposeful existence and the politics of meaning only in the Unitary State, and one mediator also between civil government and civil society, the god-man Barack Hussein Obama. (Cf w/ 1 Timothy 2:5).

Blecch!

The several sovereign states would have been better able to resist Barack Obama's apotheosis if George W. Bush had not forced through the "No Child Left Behind" legislation.

I propose September 8th to be National Take Your Child Shooting Day.

Teach them a real skill. They're going to need it.

This is a perfect opportunity for public school (ps) parents to teach their children, but will they? We do homeschool, and our decision had more to do with the lack of academic quality than religious reasons. I am heartened by the amount of parents I see online that say their children will speak up and question the liberal government welfare schools and their teachings, especially this crap. One thing I had heard about 10 years ago from older homeschoolers was that when they went to college, there was no discussion in classes. The only kids raising their hands to ask questions were the homeschoolers. Now that my oldest son is in his first year of college, I asked him if there are any discussions in class, or alternate points of view. He says very little. That's too bad, because how else does one learn if they are not willing to question and debate? When I say debate, I mean respectful debate and exchange of ideas, not the screaming over someone until they shut up type of crap that passes for debate these days.

Great blog, btw, I got here via gunslingersjournal. :-)

My son thankfully is too young to go to school yet.

Otherwise he would be staying home that day to study nazi \Germany and the connections to today's hussian.

I've got a call in to my 8-year-old daughter's school (private). If they are going to show this crap, my daughter will not be attending that day.

Maybe I'll break out my copy of Red Dawn, and teach her about how to deal with collectivist scum.

I've heard Glenn Beck and every other conservative mention Sept. 12, but no specifics.
What's going to happen on that day? Is it going to be a national day of prayer/mourning?

Solid plan. My son has been begging to try out my new Eotech, anyway.

I'm typing a letter to the Shelby Co, AL superintendent.

There's a number of options. Listening and participating aren't among them.

Perhaps now is the time to take our children out of school and institute another picture of "No Child Left Behind."

I wonder how many of the notes being taken by children will say:

"He has really big ears."

"No, really, those ears are huge."

"Elephant ears is putting me to sleep here."

Non-event for our family; we've been homeschooling for 7 years now. However, a lot of our neighbors either do not know about September the 8th or they are merely apathetic.

Ah, the joys and rewards of homeschooling! We'll be watching der Führer on Sep 8. However, we'll be watching through a much different filter. We just finished with "1984" and "Animal Farm" this summer so my kids will be doing a comparitive analysis of der Führer's speech.

Any other educational suggestions are welcome. (We already visit the range on a bi-weekly basis so that's covered.)

I called the assistant princiapl at my daughter's school to discuss this and his reaction was "What speech are you talking about?"

When I went into details about it, he said, "We don't have time for this kind of thing. We're too busy teaching these kids how to read, write and do their arithmetic."

I was happily flabbergasted at this revelation. I may have to make him a citizen associate member of Oathkeepers.

When I discussed this with my ex, she was oddly enough in agreement with me on the whole thing. She said, "I may be a democrat, but after living with you for 14 years I learned to not take anything said by the government at face value and do my own research. I don't trust Obama any more than McCain or Bush before him."

Made my entire day to hear her say that.
