Sipsey Street is now on Facebook!

Even Uncle Joe thinks it's a a Big F'ing Deal!

The link: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011958482000

(Much appreciated Aelious Rex!)

Hide your kids! Hide your wives! Hide the silverware! We're taking social media by storm, folks!

It is still pretty paltry over there but head on over and give us some love. We just might give some back.

A quick search later, I'm... not seeing it. Then again, my search-fu may be a bit rusty. Best practice would include sharing a link, methinks?

Chiu ChunLing said...

So what do we do, just click "Add Friend"? I guess it's set up as a personal profile rather than a community page, so that seems like the most straightforward action.

Aelious Rex said...

A link would help. A simple Facebook search shows nothing.

Dutchman6 said...

Thanks for the heads up on the link. I checked it and it works from my end, so I am going to assume it should work on yours. Please let me know if it does not.

And yes, you will want to click on "add friend".

It will be interesting to see how long it will take for Facebook to start censoring posts. They and Twitter are notorious for it.

Huzzah - one of my personae, the Heath man, is proudly joined to the new aspect and this is a great idea.

PS the Face Book 'search' works fine now!!

No friends/likes here either, sorry. I don't do Facebook or Twitter.

I refuse to feed anything that will try to hurt me.

Facebook is not your friend. The fact that you promote and endorse these kinds of things means you do not see it as an issue and that's kind of alarming for a site such as Sipsey Street Irregulars. The First Amendment protects all the others and Facebook does not promote First Amendment freedom.

Sadly, Matthew, this is a big enough issue for me that I will likely be reducing my visits here drastically, or I will quit coming here altogether. Just like I don't go to Starbucks anymore because they do not allow CCW holders to carry in their stores.

I refuse to feed those that would hurt me. You would do well to follow that advice also.

Sincerely,

Matthew from San Diego

Sipsey on FEDBOOK, and within the 1st week of the new command ? No thanks, but nice try !!!

Don't worry guys....FB and Zuckerberg won't allow SSI type commentary on their site for long.

Matt, I don't use either Facebook or Twitter. Or Instagram or any other type of social networking product. I suspect many of us don't. It's a personal choice not to support that dweeb zuckerberg or others like him.

I understand that your generation may not see it that way. Perhaps you will open a few eyes by going where people younger than us geezers here spend time. I hope so. Facebook and Twitter tend to censor anyone who departs from socialist ideas though, so if you collect enough friends you will be censored. Expect it.

Prayers still going up for your dad.

Love it or hate it, it's a powerful tool. In the absence of a viable alternative, one would be unwise not to make good use of it.

You do realize there's a security issue big time on that site, don't you? Not that there isn't on anything internet, but why make it easier for the three-letter boys?

Sipsey really IS under new management. I never thought I'd see the day when this blog would promote Facebook, a pillar of the globalist movement.

Man, look at all the Debbie Downers. If you don't use Facebook, awesome. If you do use Facebook, awesome. If I lose readers because of it, that sucks but if that is your "beyond the pale", I would have lost you anyway. If the III% grows because of a bigger audience, that is out=freaking-standing for obvious reasons. I am really quite puzzled how this became a point of contention.

Facebook is not for reporting troop movements. For that matter neither is Sipsey Street. You will not find anything here or there that is not opensource and unclassified. No, Sipsey will certainly not look like it has in the past. If it looks the same in a year from now, I should be absolutely embarrassed because I have not done my job in developing myself into something better.

I sincerely hope you come with me for the ride. If not, I'll see you down the road.

I have a suggestion, Matthew. Google "marine arrested for facebook post" and you'll see why most of Mike's (now your) readership doesn't trust Sucksberg and his little intel-gathering site. Even BlogSpot is risky since Google took it over, but at least they don't force you to use your real identity/email to login and comment.

Stand your ground! If you choose to post on facebook, twitter or any social media that you choose, GOOD FOR YOU!
It will help reach people who do not know of the great fight your father led! It exposes our message to the younger in our society, not just the old bastards on this page (myself included)!

I am on both fb & twitter, and I spread the 2A word as much as possible (45,000 on FB and my growing twitter account @The2ndA has over 1200 now)
Good luck!

SSI is where I hang my hat. Draw my sustenance. I am never leaving.I don't like the mind set of most of the liberal unwashed masses on FB.I don't even use Google. If that FB platform draws more like minded Patriots .So be it. AAA/O 11B20. .Behind enemy lines ,Ct.

It IS rather bee-zarr that some folks are acting as if Matt is going to totally shut down the blog and work only on FB. That is quite an absurd thought process. I think that no one here will be forced, bribed or blackmailed into using FB or any other service they don't like. Matthew is NOT 'promoting" Zucky's vehicle. He IS using every available resource to spread the three per cent message. Years ago, when my Dad was young, many old time radio preachers feared competition when that ther nere TV thank was introduced! Fearing that they might lose some of their own donors, the radio preachers talked about how the TV antenna were the Devil's horns and the people who watched the Gospel on TV would burn in Hayull. But no war has ever been won by having all the people draw together in a small group huddled in a fortress and hoping the barbarians could not take over.... only when one force learns strategy and engages the enemy oh their own ground, can victory be obtained. Check out Sun Tzu some time. Fear not - You can still read this blog if you are familiar with these interwebz thangs... and if there are any family members who use FB, and who would NEVER go to this blog. maybe they will stumble into a nugget of truth over at the FaceBook page.

It is certainly true that everything on facebook is completely open to government agencies with very limited procedural barriers, even if it is 'deleted' or hidden from public view. It thus should never be used for anything you want to hide.

But a good part of our fight lies in convincing those who would serve tyranny if it looked like a winning proposition that it is instead a dangerous and costly path. Every agent of the government that comes across my posts on facebook has cause to reflect on whether everyone will meekly bow before the might of the government...and the more such profiles are active, the more that question leads to the question of whether the might of government will prove sufficient to suppress by force all those unwilling to submit.

I've also occasionally seen evidence that it is not just fear for the consequences for themselves, but sorrow for the outcome of resolving reasonable disputes by force (though of course much of this might be concern trolling). If I can write some things that are, on the one hand, clearly beyond the range of public opinion that can be tolerated by tyrants, but, on the other, also appeal to the native reason of those currently "just following orders", I may at least cause them to carry out their orders less efficiently due to the mental conflict aroused. Of course, those are both moving targets, and vary by individual perception as well as alterations in the Zeitgeist. But I cast a wide net.

A few hundred profiles, each posting a more narrowly focused thesis, may still cast a wider net than anyone could alone.

On the other hand, facebook can be a huge time sink, and studies demonstrate that it has addictive properties (probably intentionally designed). The temptation to use it as a way to virtually satisfy needs for ego affirmation is evidently pervasive and strong (which is odd because such virtual satisfaction provides little benefit in terms of real gains in self-confidence). I don't blame anyone for not wishing to engage with it. There are often more important uses for one's time, I dropped facebook for a time to focus on preparations a while back, ended up not having any reason to reengage for over a year. I don't see that as a giant missed opportunity or anything. I can't see how it would be a firm moral imperative to join if you're not into it.

Matthew, you are absolutely correct to expand Sipsey Street onto Facebook. That's where you need to be to reach the greatest number of Americans most effectively with the III% message of Sipsey Street. Time is running short for liberty; it has to be defended vigorously in the public square, and Facebook is a huge chunk of America's public square.

The whole FRIKKIN internet is the domain of all those scary ABC's!

Look, I understand if you don't use FB or Twitter, but come on, did some of you just arrive on this planet and heard rumors that skeers you?

They can suck up every single IP address - that is you - that visits SSI... and uh-oh! Look behind yer back! Under the table! The bed! Are ya sure they haven't... bugged you!

You big secret squirrel lugs you. Bless every one of you!

Ah. Right. You are using your super-duper anti ABC sniffers.

Yeah some folks act like SSI isn't already on the gov's radar.

With Mike on SPLC's list, you know it is. And everyone who has ever visited here is too. Going to facebook isn't going to amke anything worse in that regard.

I say it's al good.

Yeah, on one hand, FB is fed-funded, fed-backdoored, and gives them a ready-made map of your personal network.

On the other hand, I doubt any of you complaining about this site having a FB presence are currently using a burner laptop that has never been co-located with your cell phone and accessing this site via TAILS live CD over an open wifi far away from all your usual haunts, so if they really want you, they already have you. May as well take the message to the masses. Hell, just by commenting on here instead of just quietly reading, you may as well commit yourself to the propaganda wing instead of the rifle team.

But if they can't stop a radicalized Pakistani couple from lighting up a special-kids facility in California, you think they're really doing much about Elmer in Podunk, Iowa blowing off steam on here? Your IP will be logged into the big Utah data center along with your sister's nudie pics, and if some day you decide to go Leroy Jenkins on everyone, they'll say "the shooter was known to federal law enforcement" and that'll be about the end of it.

Have you ever given a damning deposition against yourself? Open a Facebook account, and that's exactly what you do, plus help them to build a complete mental profile for them to work off of for predictive/ pre-crime engineering. I will never be on Facebook, twitter or any of the current trendy "social media" venues. Even the comment boards are too revealing. But OPSEC is not just about revealing operational information, as intelligence is not about just the 5 W's gathering either. If I can build an understanding of your mindset, your thinking patterns and your decision points through observation, I can think 3 steps ahead of you. that's what your ABC agencies are doing with "high profile" and "high value" targets within the opposition ranks. But to each their own. good luck with that.

You should be able to view the Sipsey Street page at:

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011958482000

Currently the page uses a personal profile named "Sipsey Street", so if you're searching for "SSI" or "Sipsey Street Irregulars", that might make it harder to find.
